Holiday Inn Naples, an IHG Hotel

Actually more far away from Naples than it seems, but still OK (40min walk). Room is good, shower is OKish. One comment, we came back to the hotel at 22pm, 4 customers in line at the reception. 1 employee doing her job. 1 employee chitchatting with a woman with a chihuahua for 10 minutes while customers are waiting, not very pleasant. Breakfast is super good.

Hotel Reception.
Can get busy, very quickly but the staff are hard working and will do their best to accommodate any needs. I would encourage anyone who doesn’t carry cash with them to ensure when asking reception for a taxi to confirm the driver can take card payment. Baggage keep beyond the stay is available and super efficient for fast travellers like me.

Room.
Lucky enough to have been upgraded to a family room with separate living space. Very acceptable condition and felt far better than the quality of the hotels my colleagues were staying at in the centre of Naples, which were also far more expensive. Pictures attached to describe conditions.

Location.
Naples is on a developing stage and public transport is not widespread. Though this hotel is not theoretically far from the city, it still needs a taxi or car to get to and from. Traffic is horrendous so expect 30 mins from the city during peak times.

Amenities.
On site gym, good. On site bar, good. Restaurant, mediocre and limited offering.

We enjoyed our stay. Clean and modern room. The staff at reception really helped us out when we arrived, and they were so friendly. The restaurant on site is super handy, the pizza is great.

The area around the hotel is a little rough around the edges. It is a very big hotel. We stayed for 1 night before returning to the UK.
There is parking available, you can reserve for €17 per 24 hours.
The food in the bistro is excellent and reasonably priced. I would recommend the prawns, steak and pistachio pudding. Breakfast has lots of choice. Despite being such a big hotel it didn't seem overly busy in the dining/breakfast areas
Svetlana served us for dinner and she was engaging, courteous and had a cracking sense of humour.

So this is an honest review about the hotel. This hotel is great the personnel were phenomenal and professional. ILARIA helped me with everything I needed. Now the surrounding area is not a great look. it’s not the hotels fault it’s an old city. But me and my wife walked around and the guards keep it safe. Besides that the restaurant and the bar area are a treat. Honestly the hotel is phenomenal. The hotel can’t help the surrounding area . Thank you for having us and treating us like VIP

The breakfast at 10 Euros person per day was very good. Staff was friendly. Great view from room. Nothing nearby is open Sunday evening; we had wonderful spaghetti at the hotel bar. The only negative is the outrageous volume of trash in the plaza in front of the hotel.

The location is good even though some of the surrounding buildings are being torn down and rebuilt. The shopping in the square beside the hotel was great. Lots of restaurants within a few minutes walk. Lots of locals. Great experience
