Our room was very large and the hotel staff were very friendly. We enjoyed going to the nearly cafe for breakfast each morning (which is an extra). The only reason for a 4 star was the wifi would frequently disconnect in our room and was generally slow. Otherwise a great stay!

My room was very small, the bed was smaller and the pillow had zero comfort. However there was a super cute little balcony and the tiny little lift got me up the 5 floors every day.
The best part is the location. Was basically a half hour walk to everywhere you want to go as a tourist of Rome. Half hour to the colloseum. Half to the atrevi fountain. Half to the Spanish steps. Half to the Pantheon. A shade longer to the Vatican but I still walked there twice. Also, great restaurants and bars (cafes) nearby.

the location is perfect if you are here to explore, it’s close to everything. it’s a ten minute walk to termini, thirty minute walk to trevi fountain. so many good options near by and the bus stops are also very close.

I am extremely happy I booked here. My room for one person was very clean, had a small balcony and the location was a few minutes from the Roma Termini. Restaurants and small grocery shops within meters and the area very safe to walk at night 10pm-1am there were soldiers in the area.

Overall, the room was what to be expected with a budget accommodation. Approx 10 minute walk to Roma Termini station and metro. Approx 25 to 30 minute walk to major attractions like the Trevi Fountain and the Colosseum. Nearby to decent restaurants and a large supermarket. The location felt safe.
The hotel is on the 5th floor up an old and slow but still functional elevator. The rooms are very basic style, but do provide some amenities such as a mini fridge and shampoo. The breakfast is just a baked item and a coffee and is not on site so we didn’t find much use for that in the mornings.

We stayed at Hotel Katy for 8 nights during our trip to Rome and we found it to be a quality hotel, especially when you consider the prices they offer.
The room we stayed in was very clean and had been refurbished to a high standard. The hotel staff are lovely and very accommodating if you need to check in late or early.
The hotel is in a great location, just a 10 or 12-minute walk from Termini Station and in a nice, quiet area with restaurants and supermarkets nearby.
The breakfast is worth getting for the extra couple of Euros. It's in a cafe about a 5-minute walk from the hotel. You get a pastry and a very nice coffee which is great to set you up for a couple of hours before you go and get breakfast.
My only complaint would be that it can be noisy if other guests are coming back late and don't make an effort to be quiet but I think that would be the same for most hotels in the area.
I would definitely recommend Hotel Katy, especially for anyone on a budget.

If the booking app hadn't reminded me in an email, I'd never have guessed it was 1 star. Very large room; as quiet as possible in the middle of a busy city; kettle, fridge, safe, hairdryer, tv all as stsndard (no cups but we were given some when we asked); towels changed in line with eco policies but room cleaned daily. There is an elevator to the 5th floor, a bit slow but easy to use. Breakfast includes a hot drink and a croissant (different flavours to choose from) from a café 2 minutes walk away.
The beds felt a little too soft for me, but that's my only gripe.

The thing that bothered me the most was very small lift and the stairs to get to the lift, and also a few after you get off the lift, before entering the hotel. It was quite a challenge to bring a baby with a stroller everyday from/to hotel.
Also, the room was "cleaned" every day, bathroom was cleaned very nice, there were clean towels when needed, even the bed was made when I didn't make it, but what bothered me was that floor wasn't vacuumed or mopped for a week, while we stayed there. With a child, and after a day at a beach, it surely wasn't clean. The bedsheets weren't changed too.
Everything else was fine, rooms are air-conditioned, there is a TV, a mini fridge...
Oh and also, just like everybody here says, the rooms lacks of shelves.
I personally liked the breakfast. It's not so far away, if you don't have a stroller you can get there in 3 min.

Booked this hotel for the family with breakfast, two days prior to flying we had a message that they could not provide any breakfast and we'd get refunded at the hotel, we thought it would be ok and stayed with them.
When we arrived the place is 5 floors up and they wanted the City tax within moments of us getting there. As they had to refund the breakfast side the Manager said it would balance out and left it at that.
Now the room was big and had two bathrooms and two massive beds. Cleaning was a issue as they never cleaned up after the last guests as we found rubbish under the beds and the floor has stains on it. after the first night we found that a couple of us had bites on our legs, we put it down to mosquitoes but the 2nd night it was worse, one of our kids had 20 bites and a chemist stated it had been bed bugs. the Hotel refused to hear a word of it and stated it was a swarm of mosquitoes and even the (so called elderly )cleaner stated we were told wrong. that last night we slept on mutliple covers and wasn't bit. Glad we left.
Also that same night we were told by the manager that we still had to pay the city tax and get our refund through our booing agent, a ploy due to us stating about bed bugs i guessed. did get the refund but beware of this hotel and i'd say go elsewhere
