MET A Space Pod at Arab Street Hotel in Singapore

I stayed at Met A Space Pod for 3 nights. There’s no doubt that the pods are super clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed. The washrooms were also well-maintained, and although the storage space was small, it was manageable.

However, what really disappointed me was the attitude of one of the staff members — the lady at the reception. She was consistently cold and unapproachable in her responses, which made it difficult to have a normal conversation. From the very beginning, when I asked for help with my pod/locker key not working, her tone made me feel as though I didn’t know what I was doing, even though I was simply asking for assistance. The following day, the issue persisted, and again her response was dismissive.

Additionally, I was moved to a pod room on the top floor where I was the only guest for two days. On the third day, a few other guests joined, all of whom happened to be Indian/Asian — which, honestly, left me with an uncomfortable feeling of being singled out.

While I decided to continue my stay because the property itself was convenient and comfortable, the overall experience was overshadowed by the staff interaction. It’s been a couple of months since my stay, but I still felt compelled to share this because the experience didn’t sit right with me.

The place has great potential — clean pods, good facilities — but I hope the management takes note of improving warmth and inclusivity in guest interactions.
