Hotel Grand Kaptan - Ultra All Inclusive

Stayed here for 3 nights, basic all inclusive, room cleaning is virtually non existent and when they do come in they take all the towels, flannels away and don’t replace them, they leave the bins in the room full so everything is now overflowing as there is no where else to but rubbish, do not get no coffee in the rooms and it doesn’t matter if you complain to reception they just don’t care they say there is nothing they can do and they are minor issues. Health and safety in some parts of the hotel is shocking they have dark ramps everywhere and in the dark you can not see them as they are not highlighted while we was there 5 people tripped over the ramp in the moon bar and 1 poor lady had her toenail ripped out and had to go to the doctors and had to pay 300 euros to have the nail sorted out!, and again the hotel just doesn’t care and shrugs their shoulders. Entertainment all I can say is what entertainment??

The hotel itself is OK, bartenders, waiters are friendly,food is good . However, the general look is old and some areas not well maintained - like children's mini club and slides.
Water in swimming pool during our stay was 16-18 degrees, barely anyone was swimming.
Huge advantage is access to beach with clean,warm water, nice and friendly beach restaurant which was our most pleasant surprise. Greets for Moustafa;)

The biggest minus for us was co-operation of Grand Kaptan with Holiday Expert. They are holidays representatives selling deals that don't exist, their opinion on google is 1,6 it's a shame we only checked it afterwards. They lie, they don't refund even after not providing what was promised and timely cancelation (due to not providing agreed service in Grand Hamam Alanya which is also cheats on customers) they use word tricks to sell under pressure and when troubles or complaints appear - they avoid responsibility.
Grand Kaptan, please check who do you let into your hotel (holiday Expert representative) because they are influencing the atmosphere and opinion about the hotel in a very negative way.
One more remark - capacity of a'la carte restaurant is not enough for all guests, even at the end of the season.

We stayed at Grand Kaptan for 10 days in April 2024. We arrived to the hotel late in the evening, the reception staff where extremely helpful. The only thing we could comment on is in previous experiences at different hotels when arriving late we where a meal in our rooms fridge. How ever when arriving at Grand Kaptan we where only offered soup in the restraint.

Food: The food in the main buffet restaurant was poor. The quality and Variety of foods where not very good. And the choice for Vegetarians where near to nothing. The Beach bar at lunch time was much nicer and better quality. We also really enjoyed the food from the snack bar/ ice creams.
the staff at the beach bar and restaurants where very friendly and where happy to help and bring drinks over. There are no set cocktail menu, staff would make these up on request if you asked but measurements where different every time, which would leave to different tastes

Entertainment: There was little no no entertainment and the entertainment to offer during our stay wasn't appropriate to English speakers or children. There where two nights of entertainment that we really enjoyed which where dancers from outside the hotel. The Moon bar was shut for the whole stay other than the last night but the night we did go up there we enjoyed. the view was beautiful. We spent most of our nights in the lobby bar playing card games which we enjoyed but after a few nights got very repetitive. We couldn't sit at the main bar area outside due to people being aloud to smoke feely around the outside of the hotel. which wasn't nice with a young child.

Pool/children area : The Pool was very clean and from what we could see was cleaned every morning. There sun loungers where clean but half way through the day would get very dirty where the water would sit. it was very cold but we did go at the beginning of the season. The pool with the slides where a fun touch which was enjoyed by all. There was a very small shallow pool for children and a park and children centre. We struggled with the children's centre due to the language barrier but they tried there hardest to communicate with our 4 year old the best they could.

Photographer: There is a on site Photographer at the resort who takes pictures of you enjoying your holiday and can book in a shoot with them free off charge. All the photos came out stunning and the two men taking the photos where very happy and friendly and extremely talented. Unfortunately the photos where very expensive which you don't find out until after having the shoot done. But didn't feel pressured at all into getting any photos. We ended up getting 4 printed photos and a couple digital.

Onesite shop: There are two onsite shops Both these shops are owned by a a father and son and where both very friendly and helpful. We brought multiple inflatables which they would blow up for us and top it up each day and we brought lots of gifts from the second shop.

There was a man walking around the hotelgiving free taxis to the town and I believe other trips as we had decided we wanted to go into the town and go on the cable cars we would talk to the man about his service. He said he could give us a lift to the best and biggest clothing shop we can then have a look around go to the cable cars and meet him again to bring us home. He collected us in two taxis which where very nice but as soon as we arrived to the shop we where swarmed by guys trying to sell us stuff in his shop. To start with we looked around and tried on a few items which we where intrusted in but we quickly found the shop owners where very pushy and trying to massively over charge us. They where very pushy even to a very young girl we had with us. When we decided to leave they became even more pushy promising the 4 year old items he wasn't getting. We decided to go to a few other shops selling the same items which where far less pushy and much cheaper we ended up making our own way back to the hotel.
All in all we had a very good holiday, and all the staff where very friendly and always there to help
