Reviews
Bottom line: the hotel is 100% worth its money.
Guests with high expectations and picky eaters are better off considering a hotel with at least a 5-star rating.
Pros: the hotel is literally two steps away from the sea and Cleopatra Beach, a good sandy beach and good entry into the sea. A small but clean, nice pool (from which, however, they kick you out at 17:40). The food is pretty decent, although we still got food poisoning (once definitely because of the fish).
Cons: the hotel is a bit rundown: the walls are shabby, something doesn’t work, something is loose and dangling. There is mold in the seams of the shower stall. All this can be lived through, we didn’t expect much, but the worst thing is that it is infested with bedbugs! As soon as we checked in, a strong, pungent smell was disconcerting. Only after the fact did we realize that the day before our check-in, the room had been disinfested. So the first nights passed peacefully. Towards the middle of our stay, my husband discovered strange red spots. At first we thought it was a rash. The next day there were more of them, but the strange arrangement of the spots was disconcerting: in chains. The thought of bedbugs came to mind. We examined the mattresses, and there they were, a whole brood! We asked for another room, they offered us the next one. We examined them, and also found bedbugs. We moved to another floor, there were no bedbugs there, but this, of course, is temporary, because they just flow from room to room. An employee with an insecticide sprayer is constantly moving around the hotel. But this is useless, they need to close the hotel and carry out complete disinfestation! And the owners, of course, did not want to miss the "hot" summer season. My husband developed an allergic reaction to the bites. We noticed bite marks on other guests as well. We really hope that we did not bring these creatures to our home.
The hotel is very small and cramped. The food was disappointing: hardly any choice, the same dishes almost every day, and everything was very greasy. Desserts were also limited—barely any sweets, cakes, or fruit. The snacks available from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. were ridiculous. There were only about four cookies, including baby biscuits. Overall, the quality and taste were unsatisfactory. My wife and daughter even got sick during our stay, something that has never happened to us in any of the other hotels we've stayed in.
The pool is tiny, and there are only a few loungers available. On the plus side, the sea is about a five-minute walk away. However, loungers and umbrellas are subject to a fee, and bringing your own food or drinks is prohibited—this is something they enforce. Instead, you have to buy them on site at a high price. The hotel-provided beach towels are also not allowed at the pool or on the beach, so you're forced to bring your own.
The elevator is extremely small, which is very inconvenient if you have a lot of luggage. At the bar, all drinks except soft drinks, black tea, coffee, and water are subject to a charge. There's hardly any "entertainment" at all – in a week's stay, there were only two short entertainment events lasting less than 30 minutes, held in a small area in front of the bar.
The rooms are poorly equipped: many things are broken or moldy, the beds are uncomfortable, and there are hardly any electrical outlets. In my room, there was even an electrical outlet right in the middle of the double bed, which I kept bumping into. The air conditioning works, but it's extremely loud. In my case, it even broke and water started dripping down, so I had to change rooms. While cleaning is done daily if you want it, towels are only changed every couple of days.
Overall, the stay was disappointing, and the hotel in no way lives up to its advertised category. I also spoke to others at the hotel, and they were all equally dissatisfied.
My stay at this hotel last week was an absolute nightmare. From the moment we arrived, the service was shockingly bad. After only 10 minutes in our initial room, a staff member aggressively knocked on the door, informing us we had to move immediately due to a mistake. The replacement room was a twin, and despite requesting a double, we were told the hotel was fully booked. The receptionist was incredibly rude and unhelpful, struggling with English and unwilling to assist with ordering food for us upon our late arrival.
The hotel itself is severely lacking. The elevator is ridiculously small, the rooms are outdated with uncomfortable beds and malfunctioning air conditioning. The food was appalling, with only two unappetizing dishes available. The pool is tiny, overshadowed by surrounding buildings, and the rooms weren't cleaned during our stay.
The drinks were consistently flat, and the staff seemed bothered by repeat orders. To top it off, the hotel has a bed bug infestation, confirmed by multiple guests we spoke to. They even charge extra for beach access, don't provide towels, and the beach staff are aggressive, throwing water at guests even after being asked to stop. I even had my phone damaged when they threw water at me, and it broke! The on-site shop is a rip-off, charging exorbitant prices for basic items like a bottle of coke.
I returned home with an infection due to the bed bugs. The only positive thing I can say is to try the restaurant across the street – the staff are friendly, and the food and atmosphere are great.
Do yourself a favor and book elsewhere! This hotel is not worth the money or the stress.
The staff were incredible—always polite, friendly, and willing to go above and beyond to make sure we had the best experience. The food at the hotel was delicious, with a wide variety of dishes to choose from.
Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable stay!
