Great location however an average outdated room, the wallpapers were peeling off the wall. We got a room on the ground floor next to the reception desk and every morning and night we got woken up by people chatting in the hallway. Either the receptionist was on the phone or chatting to some guests it was very loud and constant. The worst was smelling cigarette smoke from the outside because the receptionist was smoking right by the automatic doors outside. Or maybe he didn't even bother going out cause our room stank like an ashtray. The walls in the hotel are incredibly thing you can hear all sorts of sounds from everywhere. I would recommend looking for another hotel though maybe it would have been a lot better on the floor higher up, I won't know now.

Every time I go to Istanbul, I always choose Mevlana Hotel Bazaar. The services are very good, high quality and the staff is very friendly, especially the host, Fatih. I even recommended the hotel to some friends for their vacation in Istanbul. I will always come back to Mevlana Hotel Bazaar, for sure, every time I will go to Istanbul! ❤️

So I had read many reviews about this hotel and saw several unprofessional replies from the hotel account itself which almost put me off booking this place.

But I will say the location is good, no doubt. If you have a room that faces the street it will be noisy. There’s no way around it. And even if you’re in a room in the back of the hotel the walls are thin and you can hear many people walking around. I was lucky and was in a back facing room and I slept very well.

The cleanliness is okay. It’s for sure not the cleanest hotel out there. The bathrooms are mouldy. The bed covers have a few holes in. But the bedding itself is clean. The walls have a few bit of decoration missing and we thought it was better to not use the kettle. It needs a bit of love and money spent on it. But we felt the room and bathroom were clean enough.

The staff are friendly and happy to help with anything. Even with a language barrier, but Google translate helps 🤣

The reason I’m giving it 4 stars is because of the price. The location is good and you get what you pay for, it’s a cheaper hotel. I didn’t expect it to be perfect.

Would I stay here again, yeah probably! With some earplugs.

I was there in summer with my wife, and the guys there were really friendly. I dont say its a luxarious hotel, but believe me its about how good you feel in the place. The place is close to many 24 hour shops and restaurants. I was also able to buy fresh bread at 1 am in th eshop just 5 min away. Moreover they guy also sold fresh pressed orange juices. we bought sveral orange juices every night for cheap price. Also, as I said the shops nearby are open 24 hours , so the area was so live and nice that sometime I didnt feel like sleeping. The hotel is maybe 20 minutes by foot to the sea, so you at night you can also go next to sea. There are also hotels next to it that they have breakfast on their ceiling which has the seaside view. Plus, you are just 20 minutes away from city with Tram, so if I wanna go again I would definitely go there.

This was awful experience, don’t want to repeat it again.

After checking out the hotel tried to cancel my booking with the message “no show” even though we lived there and they charged the entire payment. So booking tried to charge my again for no show.

It's more like a scam so that I can't leave this review.

The hotel is dumb, everything is full of holes - a blanket, towels, some damage on the walls, the handles of the cabinets are broken off, we took 2 rooms - everywhere is the same.

When booking, I indicated that I would be 2 adults and 2 children. As a result, upon arrival we are given a room with one bed. I had to ask for bed linen on the sofa, they brought it after 3 requests.

The walls are very thin, you can hear everything all the time.

Breakfast for 20 bucks per person - probably also taken from a 4 star hotel.

The refrigerator did not work, they repaired all 6 days of stay and did not manage to fix it.

Room cleaning - if you only ask strongly, otherwise they may not come for days.

On the recommendation of the restaurant, they were taken to a nearby eatery, with a price tag of 400 lire for an ordinary dish.

The toilet doesn't smell very good.

The impression of the city spoiled strongly.

We had many issues with our experience. The rooms reek of humidity and the wallpaper is peeling off, reveling a wet wall behind it. Right when we entered there was a pube on the toilet seat and there were stains on the sheets. The walls are thin and I was awoken by a crying baby both nights. It is a cheap hotel so I guess you get what you pay for, but it definitely sells itself to be much MUCH more than what you get. You can find WAY nicer places in the are for the same price.

We have arrived at around of 4 pm with a friend of mine. The room wasn't ready. The manager opened for us another room, probably accidentally where another person was staying, opened his/her luggage in order to check if its packed or not. We were shocked. The questions are:
- So if where are inside, the manager may opened our door any time he wants?
- If we are not there, he can easily open our room and check our stuff?

So as a result we had to find another more safe hotel with friendly staff. The hotel Mevlana Bazaar was small. The rooms were small as well. But yes, the hotel has a very good photographer that takes nice pictures which don't show the reality. Also the service is very rude, especially to my friend. Don't think it is appropriate to talk to customers like that.

First we wanted to stay at least one night, but because of such rudeness we decided to leave, that was the suggestion of Booking.com. You will see, how rude they reply in the comments.

Very nice and friendly front desk staff. Ask about the airport shuttle service - very inexpensive. The breakfast was good; terrace has a nice sea view and view of the Blue Mosque. Convenient to restaurants, souvenir shops, attractions, etc.

The room was okay. A bit noisy on the street side. Small bathroom. Bed was okay.

Clean hotel but is in serious need of repair. Showers and toilets were all broken in one way or another, I had three rooms over two nights and they were all the same.

The staff were helpful but also indifferent ( happily moved our room on second night to allow late checkout), on the first night we arrived with another guest, by random, and our key was given to this unconnected guest. It would have made three people in a double room, not sure what the guy on reception was thinking, :/ .

I would say I got exactly what I paid for.

Very nice staff at the frontdesk of the hotel. The rooms are pretty small but have everything that you need. The toilet was broken and the shower not as clean as it should be. Moreover its a bit noisy.
The restaurant on top of the hotel has a great view to the sea and the blue mosque and the hotel itself is sorrounded by the beautiful old town and very central.
All in all its good for the price but really needs some modernisation.
