Poor- location at the edge of resort it was far too hot to walk into old town and next to a very busy dual carriageway, be prepared for traffic noise and petrol smells even at night. The entertainment was poor, the stage and tables set out like a theatre don't work. The shows were mostly in German and Turkish, very few staff actually speak much English. Sunbeds is the biggest issue at this pool. Unless you are down before 8 am you have no chance. Turkish families were just taking towels off beds and this caused lots of arguments between families. 5 times I saw almost fighting over sunbeds. This is a real issue that management needs to address. If you use hotel beach towels you are charged 10 euro if you lose a towel so people moving them caused massive issues.
Overall we enjoyed our holiday due to the company and weather but we won't return to Arnor.
The room itself is spacious enough and I liked the fact that the bathroom is separated, so you can still shower while somebody uses the toilet or vice versa. The pool is always extremely clean, and the entertainment team here also creates lots of fun activities for people of all ages. One thing I genuinely disliked was that at 8:20 AM the sunbeds were already fully taken, because people just wake up and leave their towels there, even if they show up after 10-11AM- that’s a huge lack of respect on the guests’ side.
The restaurant is always filled with people, but it still has a great capacity to accommodate all. However, since we already mentioned the guests, i’d like to briefly point out their disrespect yet again. There’s huge food waste! People overfill their plates, even though I never saw food running out, and end up eating maybe half. We saw fruits, meats, drinks, everything else there is in the restaurant get thrown because people can’t help themselves and just walk twice to the buffet area.
The waiters are absolutely amazing and they are working over the clock, non stop, in hard to bear temperatures, but i’d like to especially point out Baki who is always absolutely attentive, very fast and extremely well organized- we met him at the beach, as he’s bartending there, but you can also find him during the evening buffet, in the hotel.
Overall, the conditions are excellent and we’d be definitely coming back, we enjoyed our stay truly. Of course, everything depends on your personal optic on things, but even if you’re a fussy eater, you’ll still find lots of things to enjoy.
For the guests I’d like to add just one more thing: being kind costs nothing. So, when your kids spit their food on the table, please be kind to pick up their waste, as a waiter will have to do it bare handed. If you finished your food, you can also put your own plate in the carts always present in the buffet area. I understand there are the waiters, but if for you it’s too hot to enjoy the pool, just imagine how hard it is for them to walk so many kilometers per day with long pants and with their arms full of plates with half chewed up food and glasses where there’s still drinks inside.
Rooms are good if you don't get rooms at the far end on the 6th floor that stank of urine ,absolutely disgusting but got moved when we complained.
Drinks are OK but not 5* drinks menu but good enough. The staff are of some of the best I have had the privilege to meet after 12 years visiting Turkey except the 2 lads in the animation team , pair of clowns , I didn't trust them at all. They tried for days to sell bingo tickets for 10euros but the prizes were embarrassing don't touch .
Location absolutely perfect, 15 minutes walk to the ruins and the promenade .
Value for money, yes it was a decent price for our holiday.
Would I return to this hotel, probably not but wouldn't put anyone off booking
Main pros:
- Staff - always attentive and willing to help. Everyone here is so lovely and approachable.
- Food: the food was fresh and had a wide range of selection to pick from. Also the full board included food provided at the beach, poolside and lobby area - a win for a me!
My only reason for giving the hotel a 4 star rating as opposed to a 5 is simply because it’s not on the beach. This however is not a show stopper as there is a free hotel shuttle bus that runs every 10 mins. The waiter we had at the beach restaurant was also really amazing and attentive. The pizzas we had were delicious. My second reason is that the rooms need soundproofing. The person in the room next to me is a snorer and it sounds like he’s in the bed next to me, not in the next room. Thirdly, thereason for the .4 star rating is down to the lack of entertainment, but this could be down to the fact we’re here at the start of the season, so it could get better, otherwise I’d suggest more beach activities and water sports from paddle boats to more adrenaline fuelled options. Lastly, the evening entertainment finishes at 9.30 (except for the nights when the disco is on). There needs to be more family options after 9.30, even if it’s to turn the entertainment room into a pop up cinema and hold a film night.
Also the workers tend to flirt with you a lot which can be a bit creepy at times as they’re meant to be maintaining a professional standard. A couple of the guy staff there would not take no for an answer and would constantly come back asking for your number, Snapchat or Instagram. The creepy guy would only make up 35% of their staff tho. It’s just annoying when you’re trying to relax and a towel boy won’t leave you alone.
Activities were shown to us if we wanted to them. We only decided to go on 2 excursions which were the jeep safari and the Antalya tour. The jeep safari was fun but Antalya was such a waste of money. The Antalya trip costed around 50 euros and not a single thing was worth the money. Obviously this might not be the hotels direct fault as it was with the MTS group. We were dragged to unfun, poorly planned trips. The tour guide did not allow you to do anything . The restaurant we went to (on the excursion)was not nice at all. The meal was horrible. Chicken was served cold, along with the rice and the peppers tasted weird. They also only gave around maximum 10 fries. There’s no desert and you also have to pay for your own drinks. We were sat inside a bad interior even tho the outside had very nice lit up skyline (could’ve helped stomach the terrible food more). Lastly the sand land (whatever it’s called) was not interesting at all. From the get go I did not feel impressed nor did I want to be there. In my opinion like I said before complete waste of money, there are so many better things you could do in Antalya and I would not recommend the trip organised by the MTS group.
I would just like to add the despite my comments about arnors food I did enjoy my stay here and if I come back to Turkey, I would probably go to another hotel but I wouldn’t also mind coming back to Arnor. Although a lot of negatives were said it was a comfortable stay with the hotel. I would just recommend staying to eating food at the snack bar or grill, and also maybe missing out on breakfast unless you can stomach it. Also DEFINITELY don’t go on the Antalya tour.
