Reviews
I am beyond disappointed with my stay at Hotel Arnor de Luxe. This so-called 5-star hotel was an absolute nightmare from start to finish.
First off, the staff were incredibly rude and unpleasant, making it clear they couldn’t care less about providing any kind of hospitality. Customer service was non-existent, and when we raised issues, we were met with indifference or outright hostility. The laundry service was equally appalling — not only was it slow, but it also ruined several of our clothes.
The food? A disaster. The so-called "gourmet" meals were low quality, bland, and completely unappealing. The hotel clearly caters to a very narrow audience (mainly Germans), and the menu didn’t reflect any effort to accommodate diverse tastes or dietary needs. It felt like they had no interest in appealing to anyone else.
We booked expeditions through the hotel, and those were equally disappointing. The leaders were rude and only showed any kindness if you were paying them extra money. They also showed blatant favoritism towards the white guests, completely ignoring others. The most disturbing incident occurred when my cousin fell overboard during one of the activities. The staff member on our boat sat there flirting with young girls and left it to us (the guests) to physically haul my cousin back onto the boat. Absolutely disgraceful.
The rooms were another issue. They had a strange, musty odor, and it seemed like housekeeping completely ignored them. Our room was never cleaned during our stay, and the bathroom remained filthy with no fresh towels or any effort to tidy up. The worst part? No à la carte dining, despite paying extra for it.
This hotel doesn’t deserve a single star, let alone five. It’s a complete scam. Do yourself a favor and book anywhere else — I wouldn’t wish this experience on anyone. Save your money and sanity!
Cons- no drinks menus, only 4 cocktails options, to get the nicer ones on the pictures you have to pay extra (even if all inclusive) about €6 a drink. Staff do hound you everyday (about 2/3 times) to go to parties in the town- we had about 6 people every day asking us to go places (all with a fee of course). You can’t even get a towel for the pool without a 20 min talk about why you should come to their spa, pool table is about €10 to use too. Some days we got offered drinks at dinner other days we didn’t. The food isn’t labelled either, the main dishes are but all the side bits aren’t, I hate to waste but there’s no way of knowing what half of it is. I’d also recommend more signs around, a lot of the staff didn’t speak english so it was a struggle when looking for things because you couldn’t even ask. Foam party cancelled the day before which was a shame as it was something we was looking forward too, it will not be returning for a year now. Cleaner was also already cleaning our room while we were packing up to checkout which was a little annoying, also €45 to check out late was ridiculous!
Also, a big factor on why I have given 3 stars if the fact that everyone smokes everywhere. You can’t get away from it. All around the pool, at the bars, entertainment, around children and all. It’s 2024 I shouldn’t be forced to be smelling smoke all day or move because these people want to chain smoke 4 boxes.
*Also, I will add, for the younger ladies.. the staff will try to sleep with you.. and get a little mad if you won’t, I won’t name names but not very professional*
Overall, a nice experience but I do wish we could have been left alone a little more to enjoy our holiday. Despite majority of the staff being lovely, it always resulted in them trying to sell you something, always about making extra money!
Poor- location at the edge of resort it was far too hot to walk into old town and next to a very busy dual carriageway, be prepared for traffic noise and petrol smells even at night. The entertainment was poor, the stage and tables set out like a theatre don't work. The shows were mostly in German and Turkish, very few staff actually speak much English. Sunbeds is the biggest issue at this pool. Unless you are down before 8 am you have no chance. Turkish families were just taking towels off beds and this caused lots of arguments between families. 5 times I saw almost fighting over sunbeds. This is a real issue that management needs to address. If you use hotel beach towels you are charged 10 euro if you lose a towel so people moving them caused massive issues.
Overall we enjoyed our holiday due to the company and weather but we won't return to Arnor.
The room itself is spacious enough and I liked the fact that the bathroom is separated, so you can still shower while somebody uses the toilet or vice versa. The pool is always extremely clean, and the entertainment team here also creates lots of fun activities for people of all ages. One thing I genuinely disliked was that at 8:20 AM the sunbeds were already fully taken, because people just wake up and leave their towels there, even if they show up after 10-11AM- that’s a huge lack of respect on the guests’ side.
The restaurant is always filled with people, but it still has a great capacity to accommodate all. However, since we already mentioned the guests, i’d like to briefly point out their disrespect yet again. There’s huge food waste! People overfill their plates, even though I never saw food running out, and end up eating maybe half. We saw fruits, meats, drinks, everything else there is in the restaurant get thrown because people can’t help themselves and just walk twice to the buffet area.
The waiters are absolutely amazing and they are working over the clock, non stop, in hard to bear temperatures, but i’d like to especially point out Baki who is always absolutely attentive, very fast and extremely well organized- we met him at the beach, as he’s bartending there, but you can also find him during the evening buffet, in the hotel.
Overall, the conditions are excellent and we’d be definitely coming back, we enjoyed our stay truly. Of course, everything depends on your personal optic on things, but even if you’re a fussy eater, you’ll still find lots of things to enjoy.
For the guests I’d like to add just one more thing: being kind costs nothing. So, when your kids spit their food on the table, please be kind to pick up their waste, as a waiter will have to do it bare handed. If you finished your food, you can also put your own plate in the carts always present in the buffet area. I understand there are the waiters, but if for you it’s too hot to enjoy the pool, just imagine how hard it is for them to walk so many kilometers per day with long pants and with their arms full of plates with half chewed up food and glasses where there’s still drinks inside.
Rooms are good if you don't get rooms at the far end on the 6th floor that stank of urine ,absolutely disgusting but got moved when we complained.
Drinks are OK but not 5* drinks menu but good enough. The staff are of some of the best I have had the privilege to meet after 12 years visiting Turkey except the 2 lads in the animation team , pair of clowns , I didn't trust them at all. They tried for days to sell bingo tickets for 10euros but the prizes were embarrassing don't touch .
Location absolutely perfect, 15 minutes walk to the ruins and the promenade .
Value for money, yes it was a decent price for our holiday.
Would I return to this hotel, probably not but wouldn't put anyone off booking
