We are not staying here, but we are joining to some food events that they host. Always a pleasure to visit James and Dani, the place has a great atmosphere and the food is SO yummy!!

This place was recommended by friends when I was planning to stay for a month in Bansko. I'm so glad I went for it! James and Danny made me feel at home (which is so valuable when you're a nomad constantly traveling). "He's an eternally happy soul, isn't he?". It was a throw-away observation about one of my fellow guests from James, one half of Hotel Avalon's marvellous management double-act, James and Dani. Without pause I replied "Yes, there's quite a few of us here aren't there?" And that got me thinking... Everyone wants to be happy, but it seems so few people genuinely are... For any period of time at least...

Avalon is a great place to haul up for a month or more while exploring bansko. James and Dani help you out with great advise, lovely food and a occasional trip to the hotsprings. 30m to the mountains and only 2 hours to the greek beaches.

Great place to stay for a relaxing holiday. Close to Gondola. Hotel has great rates for skiing with local ski rental. Great breakfast buffet with local and international dishes.

A lovely little hotel / guest room that is everything you need for a short stay. Small rooms, cosy and warm. Doesn't have other desirable facilities but its safe secure and enough. Would recommend

The owner of the hotel is absolutely devoted to his customers and unmatched kindness. Thanks to him, we saved a lot of time and discovered really typical and great addresses (thermal baths, Turkish baths, skiing, restaurants) in Bansko and its surroundings. This establishment truly deserves to be called family friendly. WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Hotel Michel is located near the city centre, 10 minutes walking. It's super clean, the stuff is very nice and the rooms are vast. It is located in a very calm area.

The location is great. It's near the ski lift and the restaurants etc, but set back just enough to enjoy peace and quiet. There are studio apartments, one bedroom apartments and two bedroom apartments. All are self catering. The apartments are all privately owned by individual owners. There is a management company that rents out a few apartments. You can go through the official Grand Montana website...

Good value for money. Family of 4, 2 bedrooms, plenty of space, comfy beds. Kitchenette missing some basic extras like tea towel, small pan, wooden spoon but we improvised easily enough (campers!). Shower tray did leak a little as needs re-seal, but nothing major. Drawers in bedroom broken, but plenty space in wardrobe. Pool/spa could do with tlc but fine for a dip and kids enjoyed. Great location...

Stayed here for a week over Christmas in apartment on top floor. It was massive so much space and view over town to mountains. Beds were comfortable and our double was at least king size though duvet was only a double so used a single next to it. It was clean though various small issues such as in bathroom shower cubicle leaked as drain was at highest point so it flooded bathroom floor and flowed out...

In 3 days the room nobody come to clean or to change the towels, the food was ok, for spa you have to pay extra for bathrobe and towel and the humid sauna smells a bit like mold. there is room for improvement!

Pretty good accommodation although I can’t compare it with nearby fancy hotels as I haven’t stayed elsewhere other than Elegant Lux. Staff professional and spoke English in the lobby. 10 mins walk to the gondola if you cut across a bit of a track through some wasteland (cars, taxis and pedestrians all use it). 5 mins from the Main Street with Amigos et al bars and restaurants. We have just stayed here for 7 nights. Myself and my 2 children. It was a nice hotel, the staff were friendly especially the guy behind the bar he was brilliant with my daughter she loved the kids cocktails. Pool was nice and warm. There were some disappointing things like the hotel states sound proof rooms but it wasn't as we were woken at 6am every day by shouting and banging from next door and upstairs...

Stayed as part of a Balkan Holiday ski package. Location is good. If you need to walk to the gondola this takes around 8 minutes. Shuttle is available to and from gondola but is a small 9 seater bus that fills quickly in the morning, less so in the afternoon. Supermarket 4 minutes away. Rooms (we had 2 bed apartment) were excellent and very clean, and kept so all week. Entire hotel very clean. Pool...

The rooms are very nice and they are in Bansko’s style. In some of the rooms there is a fireplace. The big room for 6 people is awesome, especially if it is a maisonette. All rooms have terrace.

The apartment was spacious, the kitchen was badly stocked, if we had wanted to cook it would have been tricky. Breakfast was OK, but no toast, evening meal again was OK, large portions, but no drinks available- we were told water was only for breakfast, the shuttle bus had been replaced with a car which was fine for 2 of us but would have been a problem for any larger groups. The bar had been closed...

Large apartments with all you might need inside. The aparthotel is very close to the cabin lift and slope #1 so basically you can ski to your room. Spa was great, swimming pool, sauna and jacuzzi worked fine only the Turkish bath was off. They also worked out all our requests. Great for the price.

Descent price/performance ratio. Very close to the gondola. No lifts for upper floors. Spa at the basement is good for after ski relaxation.

Very pleasant place to stay near the lift in Bansko. I didn't try the pool but heard it was cold.

We stayed here for an entire week and some of us were lucky to have a nice and clean room while some friends had issues with some bugs in their beds so they needed to switch off the room. Our room was warm and clean and we also received a bottle of champagne on the 31st of December together with some chocolate.

Perfect place for balanced holiday. Near to the ski gondola lift (10 min walk) and to the centre of Bansko 10-15 min. The staff was so good and we recieved a new year gift. It was amazing! 10/10

Good value for money. Clean, warm and very friendly. No noice at night and can get a good nights sleep. Convenient for gondola and town centre. 12 minutes walk to gondola.

Good location, free parking and excellent Wi-Fi, kitchen staff are okay, but Owen is missing. They change towels upon request. Beds are clean.

I was very happy with my stay at Bella Vista! Great clean room with a balcony from which you had a beautiful view of the mountains. The breakfast was of good quality and the selection was sufficient for my needs. Very nice and friendly owners. Overall, very recommendable.

CONS: Warm and Friendly host, very clean, spacious and warm appartments. Quite location, 5 minutes to Pirin street with its restaurants and shops. PROS: Very basic breakfast, about 15 minutes work to Gondola.

Really well equipped rooms and clean! Staff are very friendly, Nadia the receptionist very lovely and helpful! Transfers to and from the gondola all within my package and was never once disappointed! Great location to the main high street with all the shops and bars highly recommended!
