Bansko Royal Towers in Bansko

Two of us stayed four nights in a one bedroomed apartment; one in the bedroom, one on the sofa bed in the living area. It is basically 12 apartment blocks and we were in Block 10 which is around the back near the reception, which takes some finding when you arrive on the street at the front! The apartment was a good size, warm and clean although a bit spartan. The kitchen has a fridge, microwave and two rings, but was a waste of time as there were no cooking utensils, just some cups, plates and cutlery. The bathroom was a bit leaky but not really a problem on the tiled floor and the shower was strong and hot. Going by availability the place was pretty full, but we didn’t get any noise from other apartments. It’s a good location for the gondola; only a few minutes walk. There is supposed to be a spa and restaurant but they were closed and looked permanently so. We would probably look to stay somewhere else next time because I think cheaper and better is available in Bansko away from Christmas and New Year, but having said that, it was OK. Bansko is a nice little ski resort. The snow was good with nice wide runs at the top and down through the trees, however even the blue runs were pretty steep. I’m not sure that it would be good for proper beginners and the few easier runs were quite busy. Get your boards and skis from Sankiyski on Pirin Street, opposite the Kempinski Hotel, they were very good.
