Budapest Hotel

The hotel is quite basic. While the rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable, the biggest downside is the breakfast, which offers very little variety and is exactly the same every day. There’s a noticeable lack of pastries. They need a professional toaster, this is basic in a hotel!

Additionally, the location is a bit from the city center, so I wouldn’t choose to stay here again. I didn’t feel entirely safe returning to the hotel after dark.

The staff, like in many other places in the city, could benefit from customer service training. They don’t smile at all, their appearance is unprofessional, and they seem bothered when you make a request.

Worst stay ever! This hotel does not deserve even 3 stars. The entire place was incredibly dusty – I could feel it affecting my health. The room was dirty, dark, and depressing. There were cracks on the walls, and it felt like the building was falling apart. The staff was unfriendly and unhelpful, and when I brought up problems, they made light of them rather than offering any solutions. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.

You are welcomed by a rude receptionist and mold odor. They don ‘ t want to show you the room before payment, pretending they are busy. They made me a great favor, maybe if the staff were polite i would have suffered one night in their mold odor.

I don't usually leave reviews for hotels, but I will this time. I was first met at reception by what I can only describe as the rudest, most patronising and condescending person I've ever met (middle-aged, bald man with glasses). Pretty much barked at me and when I went downstairs to tell him I had concerns with the lock, he pretty much shouted 'what's so difficult to understand?'. For that reason alone, I've rated the hotel 1 star. Which is a shame, as the rest of the staff were lovely.

Secondly, the air con in the room wasn't working properly. Which is less than ideal during Summer. I raised this issue and was told a technician would come to look at it at 8.30 in the morning. Nobody ever turned up and I had to chase this up.

Thirdly, is it really necessary for the TV to automatically turn on EVERY TIME I enter the room? Plus the WiFi kept cutting out.

No tea in the room or products in the bathroom. Only a bar of soap. 4 star hotels usually have some products. Felt more like a 1 star hotel tbh. As I've been to 2 star hotels with better facilities and customer service.

Hotel itself is a short 15 minute walk to the city centre. However, it is located in a dodgy area and I did not feel safe walking around during the day time. I didn't even brave walking around at night!!

Finally, breakfast buffet selection was tiny and the smallest and poorest selection I've seen out of any hotel I've been too.

I'm surprised by all the good reviews. Only good thing about this place is the size of the room and distance to city centre.
