As a solo professional woman in her 50’s, it was my first time to Germany and I need not have worried or been so anxious about it. I reviewed about 15 hotels in Hamburg for my pre-cruise stay but was led to the Hotel St. Louis Jacob and was really glad I did. It’s the small things that makes a stay feel luxury and after being around the world, I loved the welcome card from Judith the GM. The hotel had a beautiful aura on the river bank and a breakfast room reminded me of New York in its glamour. Julia Hauffe helped me organise it and made me feel welcome which I appreciated. Thank you from a Londoner, I will stay again.

We stayed at this charming hotel at the beginning of February 2025. The neighborhood of the hotel is not like in a 1.8 million city, but you feel like in a nice village. The furnishings of the hotel are of a high standard. The staff in particular contribute greatly to the feel-good factor in this hotel. The breakfast buffet is lovingly prepared and very good products are offered. A positve place.

Never again. This hotel does not even have Aircondition. In no rooms! It is noisy from the street and the staff makes party in the little jacob until middle of the night. Then they trash the glass bottles when they finished their party. All in all it is a no go, especially for the price!

An excellent hotel on the banks of the Elbe. Luxurious rooms and comfortable, inviting communal areas. Friendly, efficient service throughout. There’s a car park, multiple buses stop outside or it’s a short walk to the ferry stop for Airbus or the centre of Hamburg.

Everything else was pretty good.

Great view over the river but it’s Airbus factory. The service at the reception was efficient but a little cold. The restaurant staff were good. The rooms are very spacious and nice. The parking is underground - get instructions before arriving. Too expensive for the value considering it’s a long way from the city.

About a week before my stay, the hotel let me know of issues with the Ballsaal suite which led to a change of suites. My point of contact, Alexandra, was very professional, responsive and considerate, easily resolving my concerns. Upon arrival, I was pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a suite with a river view.

Both the suite and the hotel were beautiful and well-maintained, reflecting five-star quality. The staff I interacted with were professional and fantastic. The food was also just as great.

The only very minor issue was that room service accidentally took a fridge magnet in a Hotel LCJ box (& an unopened bottle of champagne), something I would have liked to keep as a memento. However, this did not dampen my overall positive experience.

The time spent at Hotel LCJ was a great experience. Both the hotel and its staff fully deserve their five star status. I look forward to visiting again!

Arrived late to the hotel but just managed to spend a some pleasant time in the sun at the terrace overlooking the Elbe. Arrived on a Monday, so not possible with half-board, but the small restaurant across the road provided good food. As always a good place to stay when in Hamburg or just travelling through

The fine dine dinner and breakfast was delightful too.
