The hotel is conveniently located near the Cathedral and public transport. There's a good variety of restaurants nearby and the staff is helpful. However the rooms need to be renovated. Lighting in my room was poor, the heating was set too high and difficult to find how to change it and the bathroom was small. The breakfast area and variety was very good.

Located on a busy bar/restaurant street within 15 min walk to the Cathedral. Spacious nice rooms but pillows are awful and elevator from -2 parking level didn't work (I could not relocate my car to another level...). Staff is helpful and welcoming, just sometimes does not notice guests at the reception. Rooms are equipped with everything needed for a short stay. Breakfast is a bit too expensive - 22 eur - we chose to have breakfast in the city instead.
Overall good value for its money, with a few things hotel could easily fix to make it much nicer :)

The location of the hotel is very convenient since it is very central. There were a few things missing from the room. The first day we arrived we had no body lotion and conditioner in the room. We did receive those immediately upon request. Our coffee was not replenished and neither were the disposable coffee cups they had in the room the first day. We had to ask for these each time. We were here for 4 nights. Otherwise the rooms were clean. However, I might be inclined to check another hotel the next time we are here.

Hotel is very old and definitely needs renovation. Only one elevator was working, which was making the lines even during the nights. Reception guy from Iran was very nice, nevertheless the second guy who did the checkout procedure was pretty rude. Housekeeping was nice, however one lady tried to kick us out from the room since she had wrong room number to prepare for the checkin. Overall, pretty awful experience, which you don’t expect to get for 4 star hotel

I stayed in this hotel for two nights, and might not book again.
The positive is the location. It sits well in the city center, with lots of restaurants and cafes nearby. The reception staff was also friendly, and answered my questions patiently.
Now here comes the negative. When I checked in, I was asked to hand over my credit card in case I made any expense during my stay. I imagined that there should be a card terminal to read the card, or my card for the reservation will be used automatically. Nope, the card information must be typed manually into the system. The hotel itself feels like it gets stuck in the past for ten years. The room I got was very old fashioned, not in a good way. The television was small, the single bed as well. The room door could not be locked from inside. The restroom was well accessible just like its hospital-like decoration. Since it lacked a proper bathing cabin, it got wet everywhere after a shower. When I checked in, the hand wash and the shower gel were empty, no tissue either. I asked the reception for new bottles, the next day the hand wash was gone again. And be aware that don't put room key with things like airpods case, my card got demagnetized because of that. And when I checked out, the invoice must be printed out, no digital copy available. Not very environment friendly I would say.
The hotel isn't worth the four star rating. Honestly if there are other hotels available, I would avoid this.

Grate place to stay close to city center. 10 mins by walk from cologne central station and cologne cathedral. Room was clean and staff is really nice and helpful.

WARNING! Charged for breakfast without telling us. Hotel is clean and free mini bar is nice. Rooms spacious. A/C in rooms is hit and miss.

The best hotel I ever stayed .The hotel director & all staffs are very nice & absolutely helpful.If I happen to visit Cologne again ,this is the only hotel I will stay.No where else ! You deserve 5 star for this .

Stayed there for 3 days. The stay was pleasant. The lady in the bar was very Cooperative. The rooms are pretty decent, clean and well maintained. The cathedral is nearby and so is the station. One can find quite a lot of shopping options. I will definitely visit this hotel in the future again.

Not the most modern Mercure I've been but tidy and comfy. The personal is very nice and helpful. Minibar is included. Only bathtub no extra shower. I little bit small bathrooms.
