Reviews
Registration was simple and efficient, they also provided 1 coupon/pax for each night that was booked for a free drink. Nice perk!
It works as a place to rest for the night before the next day's adventure but nothing too fancy about it. Affordable and good enough!
I was in the room for the reviews that mention the male receptionist entering a female room at 1:30am for “passport control”. Doesn’t matter the reason but to do anything like that without the consent of the room’s inhabitants is abhorrent. I am grateful I was able to get my second night refunded because I was not staying there another night. The manager seemed genuinely distressed but I miscommunicated and I suspect he might have defended the passport control reason (I had thought he said “pest control”).
Bathrooms were also awful. Blood on every wall of one of the toilet stalls. The showers are small and do not have enough room for you to bring your clothes or towel inside without getting everything wet. Floor was constantly flooded, and especially under the hand dryer.
I stayed from 9 to 12 October 2024 in the 6 bed women dorm room 110. In the last night we were just three women sleeping peacefully when in the middle of the night at 1:30 am a man opened our locked door and went inside. We were shocked and he just said that it was because of passport control. WHAT? I later went down to the reception because he was actually a staff member and he could not tell me any reason why this "control" (which he labeled afterwards as a check which beds are free) was necessary. He did not see anything wrong with it. He denied that it is wrong and harassing. Just "sorry".
On my first day another male staff member entered the women's bathroom without warning for "control". When I told that the night staff member he saw this as normal and "you get what you pay for". WHAT?
THIS IS NOT OK. WE PAID TO FEEL SAFE. WOMEN ROOMS ARE WOMEN ONLY ROOMS UNTIL A MAN ASKS AND GET AN OK TO ENTER.
I cannot believe that I have to point that out. Never again. Not recommended.
Regarding the reception at a hostel, where the main objective is to attend to tourists, it is essential to be patient and treat visitors to the country with respect.
Unfortunately, the treatment I received left much to be desired, which evidenced not only a lack of professionalism but also personal issues of the employee, which he couldn’t or wouldn’t separate from his work. The yelling, his attitude, trembling hands (indicating nervousness), and the mistreatment by the man working on Saturday night (12:30 am) were truly unacceptable.
I spent the night in Munich because my flight was the next day, but I will never return to this place. The experience revealed the employee's lack of humanity. He threw the room card on the counter, aggressively telling me to leave because I couldn’t understand him, despite his explanation being incorrect.
**Rating:**
- Hotel: 2 stars
- Service: 0 stars
- Room: 3 stars
- Building: 1 star
The place, in general, could be better maintained, cleaner, and better signposted. You have to guess where things are. The staff needs training in respect and professional ethics because their behavior gives a bad impression of Germans to the world. I refuse to believe they are all like this, but this was the unfortunate experience I had.
**P.S.:** The next day, the receptionist who helped me in the morning with the check-out was concerned with treating me well and respectfully. Even though we didn’t understand each other, she used a translator to communicate with me. This shows dedication and an understanding that in a place that receives tourists from all over the world, not everyone has to speak German.
Right from the beginning the receptionist (a chubby black guy with good german and american english accent) for no reason denied to talk to me in a polite way.
The hostel offers 2 free drinks. I used the cards to get watter twice, 2 times he refused to talk to me but used the finger to direct me to another person. The first time was from one drink automat to another, then the second day from the second to the first. Like wth?
There is no hot water in the bathroom. I couldnt take any bath.
Flies all over the place in my room. It's July, I understand. But in a hostel? When I entered there must be at least a dozen of flies in the air.
The floor and the table are dirty with shoe-prints and rings for who knows how many months or years.
There is no fan. It's so hot we have to open the window all night. And the bar/cafe/something down there was so noisy the whole time. At 1 or 2 AM we could even hear new guests entering the room nextdoor in the coridor.
The only thing that is slightly a plus is that the female receptionist and the cleaning ladies were nice.
I don't recommend this hostel. It will bring your mood down. Stay somewhere else.
