Helvetia Hotel Munich City Center

I made a reservation for 2 days and had to leave early. There was a heating problem at the hotel and the employees were so rude & unfriendly.
I requested pay back for the second day which I didn’t stay at the hotel and still waiting their reply.
Room was uncomfortable and the location was bad.
Don’t prefer to stay in this hotel.

No heating in the bathroom nor the sleeping room. Only small heater provided by the staff.
Pretty rude staff saying one thing and doing another.

One of the west hotels Ive ever stayed in. Let’s start with the good stuff. The staff were nice and the location is very central. However the service was really bad, I had to wait two nights to get an extra pillow (the bed comes with one pillow) and one day the boiler broke. The room was absolutely disgusting, housekeeping didn’t clean the room properly. The bathroom wasn’t any better, also it’s the year 2024 please use bidets! To top it off there was construction work going on next to the hotel which made it unlivable. Honestly, I would not want to spend a night there ever again.

For staff= very bad / zero

If you dont want to ruin your vacation or work day this hotel is not for you.

Discipline, kindness,paitience is necessary too . Learn it .

This was the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. The staff was rude and unfriendly. The room was absolutely disgusting. There was black mold all over the bathroom and feces on the shower head! Yes that's right! Not sure how it got there or why it wasn't cleaned but when taking a shower my SO took one for the team and cleaned it. These guys should be fined for being so unsanitary. I will have to do better due diligence next time I'm in Munich. Terrible hotel.

Stay away from this hotel! I really wish I can give negative stars here. Had the worst booking experience with this hotel. I booked through booking.com for 2 nights for ~$450, which was refundable. The next day, I don't know if there was a system glitch or my account was taken over, the same reservation was booked again, non refundable and it charged me ~$900 for the same 2 nights. Of course I don't need 2 rooms and so I called booking.com immediately after I found out, 1.5 month ahead of the trip, and 3 times afterwards almost begging them to cancel it, and they kept humiliating me by saying it's non-refundable and I can cancel the refundable one. Of course they want me to be stupid and pay double the price. They even said in the 4th time, quoting "we have taken position on this matter". What position? A position that your hotel is so badly run that you are not letting go of this $900 incorrectly deposited into your account because no one else will stay here even it is Octoberfest? Horrible horrible experience, no wonder almost all hotels around here are fully booked because of Octoberfest but not this place.

The biggest mistake I made was I did not read the reviews before booking this hotel. Multiple people have experienced same problems as I did. The a/c did not work. I complained. The front desk refused to give another room. I had to leave the windows open. It is in a noisy neighborhood. I heard people screaming until 3 AM. I felt helpless and miserable after paying $260 on hotels com. Do NOT stay at this hotel. That would be my advice.
