Great for just sleep and shower (shower was tight fit). No air and old pipe heat (we didn't need heat) noisy at night bc to keep comfortable window had to stay open. Service slow at first, but excellent and friendly. Appreciate the time spent there. Thanks

We were in Munich for octoberfest and Hotel Am Sedlinger Tor was great. The staff was very helpful and kind. Our room was great and just what we needed. It was clean and housekeeping was available whenever we needed it. The location was perfect because you can get around to any point of Munich easily by foot. Uber was available for quick trips as well when we needed it.

A very budget hotel. Tiny room with a tiny tiny bathroom. Good shower but drainage was very slow. No space for suitcases. Walls are paper thin and could hear everything happening in the next room and out in the corridor. No fridge. No kettle. No fresh towels. Would not recommend. Only positive was the young fella that checked us in

The location is perfect. Few meters away from the tram and underground. A cross the road you are straight in the middle of a shopping pedestrian area, full of restaurants, pubs and cafe's. 10 mins away to the main square of Marienplatz.
The rooms are on the small side but enough for a couple of days. The bathroom is also a bit on the smallish side. I loved the view of a large tree from our room, we had a big window facing the side road. It can be a bit noisy in the evening but the window is double glazed however in summer there is no AC.

The hotel is not very good... the value for money is poor.
The only good point—perhaps the only one—is the location. It’s perfect for discovering Munich on foot. There’s no need to use a car or public transport.
But as for everything else... it’s not good at all.
We booked this hotel partly because it was said to have parking.
However, when we arrived, they told us the parking was full, so it wasn’t possible to park our car.
We had two options:
park our car in a lot next to the hotel for 40€ per day 😱 or park in a lot 20 minutes away on foot for 20€ per day... unbelievable!
As for the hotel itself: not good either...
The common areas are old, but we didn’t mind that—we didn’t come to a hotel for the common areas.
The room was very tiny and not very clean. The carpet was dirty with multiple stains. The bathroom wasn’t very clean either. There was no shower gel, shampoo, or hand soap provided.
There was also no fridge, so it was impossible to keep any bottles of water cold.
I don’t recommend this hotel…

If you need a place to park your suitcases and sleep, this will work well for you. Friendly, helpful staff and a great location. The only downside is the showers are VERY small. Like, 'can't turn around in the shower' small. But it's a charming part of town with lots to walk to.

Great location in the center of the city, a few minutes walk from Marienplatz.
Comfortable rooms with good size bathroom.
Clean premises.
Very friendly staff.
Would definitely recommend a stay here.

I think I am being generous with two stars. The location is ok, about a block or two from a U-Bahn Station. The front desk does not operate 24-hours. You must not lose your keys. The elevator is slooow and small, literally about 4’ x 4’. The hallways are dirty and obviously marginally maintained. Then there’s the room. It is smaaaal, and the bathroom even smaller. The shower is literally 3’ x 3’. Can’t make that up y’all. I did feel like the room was clean, but that’s the extent of the positives. And the drapes did work, but there was no sheer inside drape to maintain privacy when opening the drapes. And the walls are very thin. You hear everything going on outside the room. If all you want is a place to sleep, it’ll work.. kind of… I definitely would not want to be here with kids.

Affordable, great location, kind staff, rooms were nothing special.
The hotel is 1 metro stop from the main station, and about 10 minutes of walking from the old town and main square, so the location is great. The staff were really kind and helpful. The rooms were exactly what we paid for, a bed, shower and toilette, nothing bad there.
Only negative is that the doors and walls are a bit thin so if anyone comes home late, you can hear them open and close their doors, shower etc. Also, a lot of channels on the TV didnt load. Other than this, it was a great stay, and fairly cheap. Would recommend.

My friend and I visited Munich, Germany for a few days and were looking for a cheap stay but I'm happy to say we stumbled upon so much more. We were so surprised to see that our hotel was so close to the city center and the action. The room had everything we needed and the staff members were so kind! One even helped my friend bandage a burn wound she had gotten. A really lovely stay.
