Reviews
The accommodations and location are great at this hotel, but what makes it really stand out are their staff.
Upon check-in, the staff warmly greeted us and made an effort to communicate with our young child. Without asking, they set up an additional bed in our room.
The staff also provided amazing recommendations and made reservations for us at local restaurants, and provided instructions and directions for things like the hop-on-bus.
The hotel also has a direct connection to Roseinheimer Platz station, located immediately beneath the hotel which has direct access to Munich International Airport via the S8 train. Additionally, the underground path under the hotel has several supermarkets, shops, and cafes. The hotel is also a 15 minute walk from Munich's Old Town.
I highly recommend this hotel for any visit in Munich. Plus, you get even better rates if you use the Hilton App.
Our experience of the outstanding service of this hotel started before we’d even arrived. My sister and I were travelling to Munich for a concert however after extreme weather and flight cancellation chaos, we arrived 24 hours late. As soon as our flight was cancelled and I knew we wouldn’t reach the Hilton on the day intended, I messaged the hotel, and despite being outside the cancellation window, they allowed me to cancel the booking and start a new booking from the day after so I wouldn’t pay for a night I wasn’t able to use, without penalty. Hilton didn’t have to do this, but they showed care and empathy which is so appreciated - the number of times you get “computer says no” at other hotels.
After arriving in Germany, we were then faced with the next nightmare - my luggage didn’t arrive. So I was facing 3 days in Germany with no change of clothes or cosmetics, toiletries etc. I was visibly upset and it felt like the final straw after a drama filled journey to get to Germany. Shortly after going to the room, there was a knock at the door from concierge with complimentary wine and chocolates to comfort me - the sweetest touch and just goes to show how good the staff at this hotel are!
On to the rooms - they have everything you could want. Recently updated, in room fridge, fluffy towels, great products and the most comfortable beds ever! Great down pillows and duvets with lovely cotton sheets - and the rooms are very dark and soundproofed too owing to a great nights sleep! The room was clean on arrival and the housekeeping gentleman always said good morning to us. The AC was also 10/10. This hotel haven’t gone to digital AC and being able to have a manual thermostat which we could control ourselves was excellent. We like a chilled room and the AC here was never manually overridden which we loved.
We also had access to the executive lounge for our trip - it’s quite a small one in comparison to the Berlin one, however it’s more than fit for purpose! Nice selection of drinks and canapés, and the hosts were great. There was a very friendly gentleman but unfortunately didn’t catch his name.
After sleeping like babies, we went to the main breakfast downstairs and were seated in the diamond area on both days. Breakfast was great, a relatively good selection. Only improvement points would be having a toaster (there wasn’t one so the chef had to do my toast in the frying pan) and then also having a coffee machine within the diamond section - there always seemed to be a large queue for coffee. But these are very minor points, overall it was excellent! High quality food as would be expected at this level of hotel.
On to stand out staff who made what was a testing and stressful trip, much more bearable - Sandro and Nat. I wish I could come down to breakfast in my own home each day to a greeting like that from Sandro - a true credit to the Hilton Munich, he is genuinely a ray of sunshine and we adored him. Secondly, Nat on Concierge. He was the epitome of a gentleman and his service and help was absolutely stellar - he’s also a really interesting gentleman who engages in great conversations with guests, going beyond his duties of concierge which he also excels at. He kept us right on all means of transport and getting around the city, plus helped my sister with finding a laundrette to clean me clothes due to my suitcase having been lost.
Thank you Hilton Munich, a beautiful hotel, great rooms, great breakfast, EXCEPTIONAL staff, and once I get over the drama caused by the national airline of a certain country, I’d like to go back to Munich just so I can stay here again!
We were very happy and pleased with the staff service. Room was very clean, beds and pillows very comfortable that I wanted to take them with me back to London 😂.
Bar staff were incredible.
Also the location is very convenient as the underground station is basically under the hotel and it connects you to all the main places.
Highly recommended.
Nice spacious rooms.
The hotel bar has a very good bartender and the selections of cocktails is amazing.
Concierge was very helpful in getting reservations and tickets.
Overall one of the most hospitable experiences in Europe.
Location is great, walkable to the city centre in a peaceful neighbourhood and with a direct lift to the S-Bahn station below.
Rooms are comfortable - spacious enough and well-equipped, with good quality bedding and towels. I like that the window can be opened wide enough to let some air in. Heating / aircon seems old and takes a long time to have any effect, but it does work. This time on arrival the basin in my bathroom was fully blocked, so I’m not sure how the cleaners missed that but it was resolved quickly once I reported it.
Breakfast has a lot less choice than it used to have years ago, but is still pretty good and the staff here are very nice. Pretzels were only available on one of the three days I stayed this time, which in Bavaria seems to be an omission! There is a separate breakfast area in the restaurant for diamond members.
I’ve never loved the new bar after the refurbishment. They’ve gone for a high-end cocktail bar vibe which is fine, but not especially relaxing compared to the traditional lobby bar it replaced. Service can be hit or miss and the lights have a weird flickering effect which I find annoying.
The executive lounge is popular, and you need to go early if you want a seat for the ‘happy hour’ each day, which has free beer, wine, snacks and small salads.
There’s a small but neat fitness centre and a new self-service shop in the lobby (minibars in the rooms are now empty). Reception, restaurant and cleaning staff have all been super-friendly and helpful and all speak good English.
Despite a few niggles I will keep coming back here because it has the important things right (comfortable rooms, beds and decent breakfast), the staff are very good, the location is great and I get a good night’s sleep.
