Hotel Servigroup Diplomatic in Benidorm

Stayed at the Diplomatic in June for 2 weeks absolutely loved it. Came back in October for 3 weeks, but never again will we come back here. We were made to feel out of place and as though we were not welcome. All the Spanish were made a fuss of by all the staff especially in the restaurant. On the second week there was an incident in the restaurant, where a waitress knocked my husband’s glass of red wine all over him, his shirt and trousers were soaked. He had to go back to the bedroom to change clothes. When he returned, there was no apology from anyone. In fact all the staff thought it was funny and tried saying that it was lucky to have wine spilt on you. What was really strange and offensive is that each time we went into the restaurant for breakfast or dinner, we were ignored by all of the restaurant staff. It was very embarrassing each time we were in there. The staff could not do enough for the Spanish while we were certainly made to feel the outsiders. What we would like to add is that we never complained about the above incident even though we were not offered another glass of wine or even an apology, and the said wine is what we bought and had every night for 3 weeks

This was booked through IVVA. The communication was poor. We were told water and wine was included and the indoor pool was included however when we got there, no one seemed to know this. We also were not told about the hours of meal time which did not work for our tournament. We basically missed many of the lunch and dinner meal times because of our tournament. It would have been nice to know this ahead of time as we would not have booked the full board. The hotel and amenities were overpriced for what we received. This would not be a hotel we returned to. Honestly, no drinking water provided, no coffee before 8am, no drinking water provided at meals was a disappointment in guest care. Not impressed for the high price that we paid for this resort. Would not stay here again.
