The breakfast though was a bit disappointing for Radisson Blu standards unfortunately. Choice was not as big as other hotels.
There was big construction work outside for the metro, but honestly didn’t hear it from eight floors up. I understand though why the hotel is taking this opportunity to close really soon. They will make big renovations and open again sometime next year (I think autumn?) as a top notch hotel. Occupancy rate definitely felt really low as a result.
Location wise, it’s amazing! Just ten minutes walk from central station. You can even walk most of it by crossing the road and going through the Kamppi shopping centre / bus / metro station. So convenient, I can’t wait to stay there once it reopens and stay in the heart of Helsinki again!!
It was a nice staying, although needs to be improved. We had a reservation at another hotel but they inform us 2 weeks before leaving about a renovation that they would do to the building and moved us at Plaza hotel, which was in a more convenient location after all. The room was decent, definitely not value for money. It was much smaller than we expected for a Radisson blu hotel. The breakfast also needs to be improved. It wasn’t representative to the chain hotels. It had only two options at the egg bar (omelet with specific goods and fried eggs). Had certainly a gluten free space but was really small. Needs to be improved in many areas. We were about to be provided every day with water due to our membership but this never happened.
Why 4 star only? Breakfast was dissapointing to me. First time there's no "riisipiirakka"/Karelian pie on a hotel I've been to in Finland. As others said, the selection of breakfast is bigger at other hotels.
A lovely, upmarket hotel right in the heart of the city. Modern and clean ambience. Not one to choose if you prefer a great view but otherwise delightful.
