The only downside is that a lot of the equipment in the gym was broken unserviceable.
Comfortable room with large terrace overlooking the city just at the top.
Can't wait to come back already
The room showed significant wear and tear, although the bathroom appeared to have been renovated. There was a noticeable smell of mold throughout the room, which was quite unpleasant.
The worst part of our stay was the malfunctioning air-conditioning. It barely worked during one of the hottest weeks of the year. Despite the circumstances, there was no communication or option to change hotels. We were repeatedly reassured that the issue would be fixed "tomorrow," which turned out to be a lie. Given these issues, I requested a partial refund, which was granted and appreciated, hence the 2-star rating instead of one.
On a positive note, the rooftop pool and amazing view were a highlight, and the breakfast served there was enjoyable.
Unless significant renovations are made, we won't be returning to the Splendid Hotel.
The views from the roof are amazing.
The location was convenient for us: 10 minutes from the train station where we arrived and used to visit Monaco and Eze, and 10 minutes from the beach club the hotel partnered with for a discount. The walk to Old Nice was over 20 minutes but not unpleasant to walk along the beach.

-Friendly staff, kept breakfast stocked and were helpful at answering questions and providing service
-Comfortable beds and pillows

-Maintenance was consistent
Bad:
-The room had NO AIRCONDITIONING after advertising they had it. They claimed it was working but it was hotter inside in the middle of summer than it was outdoors. Staff said they couldn't do anything about it, many guests were complaining about the same thing. For the entire duration of our 8 day stay the room was very hot and provided no cooling. Made it difficult to sleep and do other things because we were always sweating.
-The shower did not drain. It flooded the bathroom within 3 minutes of running the shower and only got worse over time. However, the staff fixed it promptly.
-We paid for a room with a full size bed, but we proceeded to get two twin beds pushed together. The beds did not stay in place very well and formed a crack in the middle every night.
-Elevators were small and very slow.
