Reviews
Check-in is efficient and we were able to store luggage as we had arrived very early.
Location is perfect for accessing tours, shopping, restaurants.
The rooftop restaurant is beautiful and we enjoyed the breakfast buffet each morning.
The hotel is two buildings and it takes a couple trips to orient to the elevators and stairs.
The bar, lobby lounge area and pool were lovely.
They have quite a few groups come through and conferences, but it was never inconvenient.
Compliments to the luggage stewards who work tirelessly with so many people and maintain a calm, friendly demeanor.
When I first checked in, my room key didn’t work. I had to ask a housekeeper to help open the door, which was the first disappointment. I went back to the reception to explain the issue and requested a room change. The second room I received was also very small.
I’ve stayed in many hotels, but I’ve never seen a TV as small as the one in this property — honestly, a computer monitor would be bigger. Then I tried to use the safe box and found it locked. When I called the front desk, they sent a bellman, who opened it with a screwdriver — not exactly reassuring for security.
I don’t like giving negative reviews, but I truly don’t understand how this hotel is rated four or five stars. I also visited the gym, which turned out to be in a different building around the corner.
Overall, it was a great disappointment the only highlight was the rooftop restaurant.
The rest of the staff, especially the overnight staff were very helpful and amazing. The breakfast sits on the roof top with a beautiful view of the Pantheon. Walls are very very thin…
Oh yes, the elevators are a nightmare. They are small, slow, and the doors are set to "kill." Don't test them.
The hotel does show a lot of signs of deffered maintenance. The staff was friendly and helpful but I didnt much or require any extra services. Not sure I would stay there again.
The rooms are very much dated and they need serious renovations. All the rooms appear to not have been renovated in the last 15+ years. No coffee maker even in a premium room. They nickle and dime you at breakfast and were not friendly. They wanted to up charge on the breakfast and charge to the room for a simple Americano.
If location is important to you then I would consider here. However if you want newer modern rooms, friendlier service and to h e basic amenities I would consider elsewhere.
