Atali Grand Resort

I stayed with my wife and our 10-month-old baby, together with a group of friends with children. We were given family rooms, but not in the main building (which looked modern and elegant). Instead, our room was in a separate building about 300–400m away, uphill, and additionally on an upper floor without an elevator – which meant carrying a stroller and baby up the stairs every day.

The room standard was disappointing: old furniture, uneven walls, and the bathroom in very poor condition – old tiles, dirty grout, and water from the shower flooding the whole floor (with a squeegee provided to clean it ourselves). There was also a small window opening to a public staircase, which compromised privacy.

Food was a strong point: fresh, tasty and varied. Drinks were average – no fresh juices (except paid orange juice), coffee was fine, ice cream was mediocre.

Another disappointment: the aquapark was closed until Wednesday afternoon (we arrived on Sunday), although this was an important attraction for our group with kids.

Staff were friendly and welcoming. However, entertainment was almost non-existent, except for quiz evenings for senior groups from France. No local dance or live music shows, which we expected from a 4-star resort.

Overall: Good food and kind staff, but poor room conditions outside the main building, very bad bathroom, inconvenient uphill location with stairs (difficult for families with strollers), lack of entertainment and closed aquapark made the experience much below 4-star standards.

Positive aspects: The hotel has good food. Everyone can find something to suit their taste. Room cleaning and towel change according to the stated schedule upon check-in at the hotel. After strolling around the village, I'd like to point out that the hotel's location is excellent. A large beach is within walking distance. Other beaches in Bali seemed small.
Negative aspects: I want to warn Ukrainians about the biased attitude of the administration - they offer us rooms that are 2-3 stars with terrible bathrooms. The bathroom is constantly flooded after a shower, and this mop was left by management to collect the water. The mirror is shabby, and the panel with the buttons for flushing the toilet is coming off the wall. In addition, it would be a good idea to install mosquito nets on the windows in the bathroom. If it weren't for the bathroom, the hotel stay would be more pleasant. I'm not sure we'll return to this hotel.

I'm not really sure why this resort is bookable in England? This hotel is NOT for English families. Everything is catered towards French, Czech, Romania & Greek! Read the reviews carefully before booking if you are English!
