White Olive Elite Rethymno

We had a family vacation in Greece on the island of Crete, choosing the White olive elite rethymno 5* hotel. It was a great choice because it fully met our expectations. The hotel has exceptional service, the waiters work great, the food was beyond praise, the pool is clean, the sea is clean, the entry into the water is smooth, the water is blue, the sandy beach is clean. You can only dream of this! There were enough sun loungers, but it is better to come to the beach no later than 9 am, then you can definitely find a place. Everything was great, I don’t understand the negative reviews, because everything is great in this hotel! I recommend 10/10

A 5*+ rated hotel. Starting from the first contact with the reception staff you already understand that customers are in the first place. Very responsive, understanding and very kind. The diverse and very tasty food, prepared with taste, something you don't find in all hotels. The restaurant has waiters who are always willing to collect your dirty dishes and serve you with drinks as often as you need, the rooms are clean, the sheets and bleach are always changed. Sandy beach. What is not enough for the given hotel is the entertainment, once every 2 days there is live music, nothing else. The location is also good, close to the city of Rethymno where in 30 minutes you are right in the center of the city.
I do not hesitate to thank the head chef Kiriacus, the restaurant manager Mihail who always makes sure to ask you if everything is fine and who is willing to help you with any question or problem, the waiters who never cease to be at your disposal, as well as the bartender Vagellis which is very cute.

It's a nice hotel situated on the beach! Very clean, friendly staff! Though the food wasn't that great 6/10, the service at the canteen was impeccable.
The hotel is also close to the highway and there's too much noise in the night in those rooms facing the highway.
Limited car parking for such a big hotel.

Within Greece, an excellent hotel.
Why? Because everything is new and modern. The cleanliness of the hotel and the rooms is at very high level.

Towels changed every day, a great advantage is the possibility to choose when you want to clean the room.

Head of service who serves at breakfast, lunch and dinner is a great guy, friendly and helpful. Nothing is a problem for him and his team.
Also the lady bartender at the beach bar is great, friendly and smiling.

And now the minuses: a bit too far from some bigger town or city center, the surroundings of the hotel give a bad impression. Streets are dirty, but that's not so much the hotel's problem, it just kind of belongs to Greece.

Another minus is that can't pour yourself any kind of drink, from water to coffee. You have to ask for coffee and all drinks.

The biggest minus is that you don't have a guaranteed place on a sunbed by the sea, you have to fight for a sunbed every day.

Overall though, the hotel is quiet, the food quite varied and for a week's holiday it's good value for money.

Pros:
-The staff is super kind from the cleaning lady to the manager, big shout out to the people at the beach bar they rock.
-Nice sandy beach, i had a blast swimming in the waves, also every day there was a lifeguard.
-Food was marvelous, every day they served something different, plenty to chose from.
-Supermarket like 2 minutes walk from the hotel. If you need cigarettes or other stuff u forgot or ran out.
-Beach beds were available for the whole hotel people at least while i was there.
-The pool is clean... tho i didn't use it that much since ... i was there for the sea.

Cons:
-make it an Adult only Hotel... there is always 1 spoiled brat that just cries whole day and ruins the calm waves sound and the music.Not to mention the headache.
-beds... this is always a big negative for me since they just put 2x 1 person bed together and say that's a double bed... well those should be changed for couple/ double rooms.
-while the bed was soft i didn't sleep well... maybe it's just me.(neither my wife)
-some toilet seats/cover wouldn't stand..this is kinda irritating for both man and woman in multiple cases.

Other then this it was a great week over there, and i had fun.
Id go back once more and recommend it for others.

PS. for the lunch box when you make a sandwich please put some butter in between the bread not just a slice of ham and cheese.

My partner and I visited White Olive Rethymno Hotel on the first week of September 2023. Here are some advantages and disadvantages what we had observed during our stay.

Disadvantages:

-When we arrived we have got informed that the hotel is fully booked and that we receive instead of our actually booked room (sea view) the family room, which faces the street. After two nights we received a standard room with limited sea view. It was very disappointing, also from the way the receptionist had told us that information. The receptionist didn‘t apologize and couldn‘t find any other solution for us. That’s not a five star treatment, specially after a long journey and late Check-In.
—You must be aware that the pictures on booking are false about the “Double room with sea view”. There you find picture of family suite, which is completely different category. But after our complaining to the manager, they made everything possible to give us better solution and we’ve received a third room, with a very good sea view. As apologize, the staff sent us wine and fruits;

-We had read earlier about the bad cleaning and sadly want to confirm it. The room was not properly cleaned, although we had mentioned it to the receptionist.

Advantages:

-The sea is located so close to the hotel, that it takes only 10 steps to get there. There was always enough space as well as in the sun as in the shadow. You can deposit 10€ for beach towels and get always fresh one‘s when you need. After check-out, you get the deposit back.

-The bar has such a great choice of cocktails. It was fun to try every time something new although compared to the cocktails we know, these compares more to mixed long drinks. The bar crew is very friendly;

-The restaurant was the best for us. Every day you have very big choice of food, which is not only very tasty but also colorful and well-prepared. The crew of the restaurant was also amazing. The manager is very friendly and communicative;

-The pubic area is well cleaned and the pool quality is 9/10. It is never crowded so you will always find a place to relax.

Although we’ve faced some inconveniences, it didn’t influence our holiday very much. White Olive Elite Rethymno is the hotel for sure to recommend or maybe come back to one more time. The hotel is perfect for relaxing holiday‘s. If you search for party and entertainment, you will not be satisfied here.

This is a perfect place for holidays. Nice and quiet area, friendly and helpful staff and delicious food. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. We appreciated location close to the beach and proximity to the center of Rethymno. Recommend for anyone who enjoys relaxing away from the crowds.
