I had a great stay here! The room upgrade was a nice surprise, with a fantastic view and beautiful decor. The hotel’s vibe is really unique. All of the staff were very friendly and attentive. A big thanks to Kristina at the bar for the great service and being so friendly. Highly recommend!

I had an unforgettable October 2024 stay at the Mercure Budapest Castle Hill Hotel, which is perfectly centrally located in the heart of beautiful Budapest. This hotel offers breathtaking views of the historic castle area and is surrounded by charming eateries and boutique shops, making it ideal for exploring the best of the city.

Who designed showers here? There is only half a shower door... whenever one takes a shower the water sprays out into the rest of the bathroom and literary creates a mini pool. I have noticed many hotels like this. I am wondering if there is something wrong with the way I take showers.

The interior is modern, artistic and the rooms are bigger than you expect at Ibis.
The breakfast spread is good, and the parking was a breeze. The Check-in and check-out was quick and easy. The restaurant staff was nice, they helped my wife find all the vegetarian options at the breakfast buffet. Overall recommended.

Absolutely incredible hotel. We stayed for a little over a week, and let me tell you that this place was THE BEST!
The staff are super friendly and very accommodating, the breakfasts were delicious and very fresh with plenty of croissants, coffee, porridge, yogurt, and more.
The rooms are insanely quiet. I have no idea how they did it, but I don't hear doors shutting, people talking, or cleaning crews. And the view from our room was the best thing ever to wake up to. The black out curtains made the summer sun disappear, but when I opened them, this view was jaw dropping.
The wifi was very spotty, but that's the only negative thing I have to say, which isn't a big deal.

was shocked by the very limited level of communication at the reception, and the thing that bothered me the most in this hotel was an annoying sound that did not stop day or night, even though I asked to change the room repeatedly. It seems that this very annoying sound that prevents sleep and never stops seems to be from machines placed on the roof. the hotel. This sound reaches all the hotel rooms. It is a grave mistake I made to pay for 4 nights, otherwise I would have replaced this hotel. The strange thing is that even though I complained to the management repeatedly about this major problem, no one complained. I advise not to book at this hotel

location is good. staff friendly but this hotel is one of the worst Mercure I have stayed at. The breakfast in particular is incredibly overpriced (20euros) and the food is bad (cold scramble eggs with shells in, poor quality sausages) the noise and layout is like a school canteen. You have to queue for coffee. Simply awful. the rooms are outdated and mediocre at best with poor AC, bad showers... You really pay for the location as my room had nice views over Castle Hill.

The hotel is located very near the metro, and the taxis are outside. It is on the other side of the river and the scenery is amazing.
The hotel staff are very helpful, the food in the restaurant is very good and fresh. The bar staff are very welcoming.
The rooms are big and clean with great en suites.
Would definitely recommend a visit to Budapest and a stay here.

The rooms are very uncomfortable because there is hot air blowing into the room at all times so it feels like a sauna. When we asked for help, the response was “open the window”. We had 3 people try to help but they just came and opened the window. So we slept for 3 nights with the window wide open all night with a room that overlooks the train station. We did not sleep well for 3 nights. It was so shocking that there was no better solution. All of our colleagues had the same experience with their rooms too. Very unpleasant! The hotel is VERY crowded so there are long lines to get a coffee in the breakfast room, and the housekeeping just leaves new towels but doesn’t clean the room. Overall, not a good experience.
