Pleasant hotel in the centre of the city with rich history and traditions, not far from the train station Santa Maria Novella, the Congress centre and the exhibition centre and from the Cathedral and main museums and monuments.

Consists of one 3-storey building.
Just 58 rooms.

A fantastic stay at Hotel Machiavelli! The location is perfect, just a five-minute walk from the train station and close to all the major attractions. We were lucky enough to have a room with a balcony that had a stunning view of the Duomo, and a full moon made it absolutely magical for photos.
The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived. A huge plus for a European hotel was the excellent air conditioning in our room.
There were a couple of tiny hiccups. The Wi-Fi, which was excellent for most of our visit, cut out on our last morning, though in fairness, I had used a lot of data. Also, the TV in our room wasn't working. Honestly, this turned out to be a blessing in disguise, pushing us to spend more time enjoying the beautiful city around us.
Overall, I couldn't be happier with our choice. I would highly recommend Hotel Machiavelli for a wonderful stay in Florence!

The air conditioning is not working. Even turning it on, no fresh air comes out. Asking the reception they replied "many customers tell us about it", "it's very hot outside so the air conditioning can't keep up with it" and things like that. They also said they would've brought us an electric fan in a few minutes but nothing showed up.
The refrigerator in the room doesn't refrigerate at all.
I suspect they do this to same money on electric bill.
I don't recommend this place in a hot season at all.
Also, walls are poorly insonorized so you can hear when next-room people use water in the bathroom.
The staff was friendly and the view from the rooftop balcony was great.

The one redeemable quality of this place is the location. The hotel is more like a pensione/ motel. The rooms are very sad and do not have an ounce of luxury. The showers get clogged. The beds broken and mattresses are 1000 years old, with wholes in them. They need to be replaced. The hallways are super dirty. The staff is understanding. But the place does not merit the price they are charging. Look at other places if possible. Unless you are looking for a 2 star experience. Thank you,

Saw a lot of mixed reviews before I stayed here on my holiday so wasn’t sure what to expect but was really pleasantly surprised by my stay. Rooms were nice and cool. Bathroom was a little bit small but not really an issue at all. All staff were really friendly and the location of the hotel was ideal as it’s a few minutes walk from all kinds of attractions and restaurants. Also the roof top bar was the cherry on the cake as it has absolutely stunning views of the city.

Front office staff were very friendly and helpful. Luggage storing options was very helpful.
Quadrapul room was super big and comfortable. Although one of the cot was a creaky. Front-office staff were very friendly and helpful. Good restaurant options near by.
Good breakfast options. About 5-7 min away from the station. Price could be little cheaper.

Conveniently located 1 block away from the train station. The staff is professional and pleasant. The rooms were super clean. Bathrooms are small. The breakfast offered a nice array of options with delicious coffee. Walking distance to many places we wanted to visit.

As I traveled for business purpose, I had my worst experience in my accommodation in that place due to the below reasons:
1. Dirty towels
2. Damaged furniture
3. Hazardous hygiene items
4. Bad room smells
5. Holes in the bathroom ceiling
6. Presence of insects (mosquitoes, beetles etc)
7. Poor insulation (all sounds were heard)
8. Bed mattress that felt the springs.
9.The bed frame was camp bed.
The positive was that the staff was kind, the rooms had air conditioning, it had nice roof garden and the location of the hotel was next to the centre of Florence and near to the congress.

I have really enjoyed my stay here. Hotel stuff was extremely friendly and made everything clear from the beginning. The room was exactly like in the pictures, although a more spacious shower would've been great. The location was perfect and the windows really covered any noise outside once closed. The rooftop terrace was a nice touch and I found it really nice that they had 2 bottles of water in the mini fridge. I'd definitely recommend getting a breakfast included option as well (and try the croissants and the apple juice). If I ever come to Florence again, I'd definitely have this in my list.

Perfect location to do some tourist destinations. Rooms were clean and bigger than expected. Staff were super friendly, and I enjoyed the breakfast. Rooftop bar adds a nice touch with a stunning view.

The only good thing about this hotel visit was the staff who were very friendly and the rooftop bar and staff there. You don’t get a complimentary breakfast for what you’re paying. Also great location in walking distance of many great restaurants and options. You are in a central location and near a train station so there is a lot of convenience.
From the outside walking in you think “wow this is a nice looking place. The entrance and front desk. Then you get to your room, the bed was the most uncomfortable I’ve ever slept on at a hotel. For the rates we paid I would’ve expected nicer quality. The bathroom was so small, shower is narrow and why is there a half screen that barely holds in place while you shower? It was impossible to not splash or leak water from the shower. The bed was made up of 2 twin beds pushed together. That was very disappointing for me to see. Tough bed, flat pillows, no amenities besides 2 bottles of water in a tiny fridge. Just very outdated room and bathroom. For it being in a prime location in Florence you would think it would be a bit nicer in your room, I’ve stayed at motels that are the same quality if not nicer. Do not expect to sleep comfortably here! You’re not paying for comfort but for the location, convenience and access to the rooftop bar and views.
