Hotel is a long distance from the city centre. Not very good transport links and taxis expensive to get to points of interest. The Spa is not included in the room price and is overpriced for a 1 hour slot. The hotel offers a good buffet breakfast. Only filtered coffee on offer though! Staff friendly but not a luxury hotel.
Our stay at Grifone Firenze was absolutely wonderful! From the moment we arrived, the reception team made us feel right at home with their friendly smiles and professional service. The staff and crew were incredibly helpful, offering 24/7 support for anything we needed during our stay.
The hotel maintains excellent hygiene standards, and every space — from the rooms to the common areas — was spotless and well-kept. We also loved the variety of breakfast options, with something delicious for everyone.
The parking facilities were convenient and secure, making it easy for us to explore Florence without any worries. And of course, the swimming pool was a perfect way to relax after a day of sightseeing.
A huge thanks to the cool and welcoming reception team and all the staff for their warmth and hospitality. We’d definitely recommend Grifone Firenze to anyone visiting Florence — it’s comfort, care, and class all in one! 🇮🇹
Breakfast was delicious and quite varied, with plenty of options. Another big plus was the free and unlimited water available in the hotel – very convenient. Location is also good, about 20–30 minutes’ walk to the city center, which for us was totally fine. The restaurant right next to the hotel was another highlight – fair prices, tasty food and very friendly waiters.
On the downside:
The pet fee felt very high (30€/night). I would really appreciate if this money went directly to the cleaning staff (who do the hard work), not just as hotel profit.
Parking was also quite expensive (25€/night), but at least it felt safe.
We were not informed in advance about the sauna/spa fee (20€/pers) I understand why it’s not free (otherwise it would probably be too crowded), but still, some clear communication would have helped.
Overall, it was a pleasant stay with many positives – friendly staff, good breakfast, nice location – but also a few hidden costs that guests should be aware of it.
The hotel is in a very residential area, so it's pretty quiet at night. Does take around 25 minutes by bus to get there from the old town area, but they came relatively regularly (the signs posted on the stops were hit-or-miss on accuracy - the buses usually ran late).
Signora Helena on the breakfast team was truly the sweetest person we met during our entire 2 week trip around the country of Italy. She always greeted us with a smile and provided excellent service (remembering that we have yogurt every morning and bringing it to us without us asking by the third day of our stay, checked in about what coffee we wanted, and more!). We really loved her, and it made our mornings brighter to see her! The front desk staff were all excellent as well! Super professional and answered questions about Florence and the hotel with ease.
So, I asked the staff that I can change the room, but that day were fully booked so that I can’t.
She also said, next day has a vacant so I can change the room, but finally I couldn't because of the staffs miss communication.
Also I asked laundly service but when I came back to the hotel, it is not completed because the staff forgot Sunday is out of service.
in the first place, the laundry service cost is too expensive so I dont recommend.
