Grand Hotel Cavour

Location was excellent and the staff was great. If you would like a quieter stay do not stay on the top floor with the roof top terrace entrance. However the views there are amazing and cocktails good. Breakfast was decent but convenient.

Loved our stay in Florence. The hotel is central and walking distance to everything. The room was spacious, clean and very charming. Loved the rooftop terrace with the bar. You have a nice view of the city from there. We were able to walk around every day to different restaurants, piazzas, shopping and even a close by laundromat. The staff were super friendly and helpful. It’s also really close to the train and metro station.

This hotel is very centrally located to Florence’s main sites. The front desk and concierge were helpful at all hours of the day and the interior is very nice and clean. Complimentary water provided in the room and shampoo for the shower, but no other toiletries provided and only one pack of coffee given per day (instead of one for each guest).

Negatives would be the shower, which has extra plumbing and faucets that stick out into the tub making it difficult to use. The second is that the hotel did not make up our room despite us asking, so we only had fresh towels/sheets for 2 out of our 3 nights. For a four star hotel we expected better.

Perfect hotel at a perfect location. Booked last minute and the staff were helpful and efficient. The view from the rooftop bar is amazing. You definitely get what you pay for at this hotel. Since it is so close to the busiest part of the city, you do get some loud noises (Ferrari starting up, tourists yelling outside) leaking into the room, but for most part it was a very peaceful and comfortable stay.

We just left this wonderful hotel, and I do have to say, they were an absolute gem. Centrally located in the heart of the area, it's a small walk to everywhere. Kudos to every department, from the front desk being so friendly to the freshly baked breakfast bread, Danishes, and delicious breakfast, all up to the housekeeping being observant to all small details. The rooftop bar was a great experience during sunset. I would highly recommend for anyone staying in the Firenze (Florence) area.

The only small issues I had were: the bed was a little too stiff to my liking (my personal preference only and nothing to blame on their part) and the bathtub/shower was set taller than the bathroom floor. It was hard to step out of the tub as my foot would slip in the tub and I would have to use the towel heater to brace myself...

But other than those 2 issues, I would highly recommend and I will definitely return back to this property.

Beautiful hotel very close to main tourist sites. Great modern amenities. Mike at the front desk was very helpful and accommodating. Our room had a gorgeous view of the numerous bell towers in the area, and we loved hearing the bells chime! We enjoyed a cocktail at the rooftop bar with a great view of the Duomo. We would definitely stay here again!

Great Hotel, we had a very good stay in here.
The rooftop was top notch.
As always we ask locals for advice and we asked Mike for recommendations and he told us about La Chicca Boutique Restaurant and we had the best meal of our stay in there.

Definitely recommended, we’ll be back when in Florence.

Couldn't be more pleased with this hotel. The location was incredible, minutes walk to the Duomo or Piazza Signoria. The hotel itself is beautiful and the view from our window was stunning. Our room was nice and comfortable. The only minor issue we had was the bathroom. Our shower was on the small side and there was very little counter space. Also, the hairdryer was one of the kind where you have to hold the button down to operate. Those are terrible and inconvenient. If they had a better hairdryer I'd probably have give 5 stars for the room.

One aspect of the hotel we appreciated was the rooftop bar. It's very nice, with a courteous staff and a very friendly bar manager. We were on the rooftop for New Years Eve to watch the fireworks and the manager passed out champagne. He even treated us to a signature cocktail that was delicious (if you ever read this reply with the cocktail name, it was one of the best I've ever had!). Its was a really special experience and one we will remember fondly.

Lovely hotel and staff. Very close to all museums and places. If you are an early bird it’s fantastic because the bells wake you up early to start your day. The terrace is great for a peaceful drink and you’ll enjoy the quality breakfast

Very nice hotel. We would definitely stay there again. We just stayed there for the night, and felt it was in a great location. It has a great rooftop bar, but it closes down a little too early. That may just be a spring time thing since it's somewhat of the down season.
Hotel staff were friendly and helped with our questions. They had a concierge but the desk was always empty. So the front desk had to step in and help, even though that really wasn't their job, and we appreciated the help getting train tickets.
