Artemisia Palace Hotel

This is a run down, but very conveniently located hotel. The staff is very nice, but my windowless room was shabby and depressing. Several of the people staying there in other rooms complained of the same. My room had a broken fridge, which was never fixed, black mold in the bathroom (in at least 3 rooms), and a broken shower head. Not exactly 4 stars. The breakfast is not bad, but you are better off going out, there is so much amazing food in the city.

I want to reiterate that the staff could not have been nicer, but they are let down by the maintenance of the place. Given the toxicity of black mold, I would pass on this one.

We arrived at this hotel which we booked months ahead of time, only to be told they had water damage to a floor. They told us they rebooked us at a nicer hotel. She proceeded to call us a taxi which took us to the outskirts of town to a low rated hotel!! It was a 30 dollar taxi ride back into town where everything was. This hotel was almost 5 miles out of the city. We are taking this up with our tour company. This has happened to other people as well. I would stay away from booking at this hotel! We eventually got rebooked after complaining to our tour company to a very nice hotel…Mecure Hotel Central. The staff here very helpful and nice!

THIEFFFFFF! After an airplaine company general strike from France to Italia in Palerme, the hotel does not want to reimburse me and took all the money. This is not the way you treat clients that can not arrive due to a general STRIKE!!! Shame on you! I do not recommend!! Plus, they do not answer any of my emails. Very bad service

Room 101 is certainly not a 4* palace grade room. It has no window to see outside but a kind of transom or skylight window. Dirt was on the floor even after the intervention of the staff. Curtains are fixed askew. Wall paints and tiles are far from quality works. But the greatest of all is the water evacuation column which has no sound insulation so you will hear every few minutes or hours in the night when all of your hotel neighbors from floors above flush their creations :) Room quality is number one expectation when I go to 4* palace hotel and it has not been met in any way.
Now for the positive points: the bed was quite good. Saff from the reception and the breakfast are absolutely nice and helpful and they tried to improve the room when we arrive and it was not ready. They helped us print a personal document. They served great hearty and varied meals for the breakfast. So thank you to the working people and the direction should improve this room and probably also 102, 201, 202, 301, 302 which seem to be in a specific part of the hotel on one side of the stairwell

STAY AWAY. Dont be fooled by the good reviews. This place was terrible.

Arrived only to find the hotel was closed. Tried calling, ringing the doorbell, and emailing. Got no response. When someone did come to speak with us at 230. They said there was an incident and didnt know if they would reopen. Just leaving us on the street. We asked if we could cancel and they said "no." The obvious being we'll be double charged for our stay in Palermo due to having to purchase another hotel. This didnt happen just to us either but, many other guests. No help from hotel staff.

Outlet sockets didnt work correctly, left without hot water for 13hours. And, had to argue to resolve it.

The breakfast was horrible, plus, the didnt even have it ready when we arrived for our reservation.

Accuse after accuse with this place. NEVER AGAIN.
