Reviews
The rooms were pretty spacious. The beds were comfortable. There was plenty of storage space, a fridge and a television. The air condition worked (though, my Scottish self would have had it cooler) and the toilets were fine enough.
The hotel and parking is surrounded by a large security fence, one that needs to be open for staff. It appears to be a pretty secure location. My window was barred on the ground floor. This was fine for us, we didn't need a view. It did give us a nice breeze and no concern about someone breaking in. If you want a view, you'll want the higher rooms but then, you're not going to Rome to sit and stare out of a window.
The breakfasts were very much to my families cup of tea. They had a fine selection from breads to cold meat, eggs, sweet alternatives and a good selection of drinks. I rather enjoyed getting up for a bite before I went out. I assume all the food was locally sourced and were all pretty tasty.
Other reviews are right when they say the walls are a little thin. You can hear a lot in the hotel, mostly chair scraping and foot steps. But they have sound proofing doors for each area that certainly help. We had to suffer a couple of days of students, who thought the hotel was their own personal play pen. They were loud and annoying. This was quickly sorted when I politely brought it up to the fellow on reception. We didn't have a problem after that. It was lovely and quiet.
On the subject of staff. Not a single complaint. The folks working there were all very nice and pleasant. They went out their way to help you when you needed it and we couldn't have asked for more from them.
The local area was quite convenient. There's a large park full of ancient ruins, a market, plenty of places to shop or eat. The Metro is a 10 minute walk from the hotel and (if you want to chance it) several bus stops near by.
My stay here was great. I'd happily come back (and we do plan to). I recommend Romoli as a cheap and cheerful way to stay in Rome. For us British folks, this hotel is above the standards of the average Travel Lodge. Check it out!
The positive points are the silence and the location; it is easily accessible by bus or train (22 minutes on foot).
Otherwise, nothing special! There are no kettles in the rooms. The fridge doesn't cool at all... the website mentions a minibar, but there isn't one.
I also wouldn't recommend the breakfast. There are very few options, and the eggs are terribly hard and disgusting.
One of the rooms also smelled strongly of vomit. At first, my mother thought it was coming from a pillow on the first night (we arrived at midnight, and she placed a towel over it just to get some sleep). The next day, she managed with difficulty to exchange the pillow for another one. However, the stench did not go away! We discovered that it actually came from the mattress.
Unfortunately, the hotel could not come up with a suitable solution and even tried to shift the blame to us! The only thing they could offer was a new room at an additional cost!
So, in short, all in all? I would not recommend this hotel.
- The staff is very kind, friendly and helpful, at the beginning I cancelled my booking by mistake, i had to call them and they arranged everything, kept the booking, i am so grateful for this
- it is bargain, good value for your money
- It is located in a quiet residential area with a big park nearby in about 10-minite walk from Furio Camillo metro station, there also bus stops closer to the hotel.
-The room was clean and spacious enough, the linen was changed every day, the bed was comfortable.
- The breakfasts are really good, quite substantial, the staff in the breakfast area are really firendly as well, every morning I was met by a smiling beautiful woman with blue eyes and always left in a good mood.
Thank you very much for excellent service, will recommend the place to the friends and family
Breakfast was fine!
The room was quite compact and small for two persons!
Shower area was pretty small!
Toilet did not have enough leg room!
Near bus 628!
Rooms were very nice.
Location and breakfast are decent.
But we had nice overall experience in this hotel.
Please avoid this hotel. My money was stolen from our room - 850 euros (probably service room). The money was hidden deeply in my wallet in the luggage. Somebody had to look for that for long time. The reception and the Carabiniery told us that because of there was no camera in our room they can do nothing with that... Of course I made mistake to leave my money in the room but nobody can any right to check my luggage inside! This situation met me first time in my life. It destroyed our holiday.
Please take care of yourself.
I wish you people all the Best.
- Preposterous situation! We wanted to get a drink in the bar and were not allowed to, because there was a “private party” going on. When asked about the possibility to bring the drinks down the recepcionist (weakest element) told us “not possible, very busy upstairs). Because of this regretable incident i do not recomend this property and never go to this hotel again.
