Reviews
As a solo traveler, I was looking for something cheap but decent. Hotel San Valentino fits the bill perfectly.
The location was great, in a very nice neighborhood with plenty of things to do around. Walking distance to many attractions (15 minutes to Vatican for example).
My room (the cheapest one in the hotel) has a very comfortable and big bed with its own bathroom. Everything was clean and working, which for me was the biggest asset. My room didn't have a view (quite the opposite), but many others on the other side overlook the street. The bed was huge and very comfortable. The bathroom a bit old, but again, clean and everything was working.
The hotel's biggest asset is its staff. Very friendly, kind and helpful.
All in all, my experience was great and I absolutely recommend it to anyone. The epitome of value for money.
Fabulous location, felt really safe and comfortable, really close to all touristic places.
Daily cleaned rooms, comfortable beds and pillows, quite spacious. Very nice view out the window.
Right next to a nice restaurant.
However, the shower door was broken, the one curtain was off the rail.
There was no spoon for the coffee in the room to stir it with. The doors and furniture in general worn and old. These are all small things that could be improved. Overall, it was a great choice and value for money.
Did booking online with booking. com
Later we had to extend our stay and got a better deal from the front desk
I recommend you to book the hotel online as it is usually Full
The rooms a decent and location is excellent just 2 min walk from metro station
We decided to walk from hotel to the Vatican City and it took 20 min to reach
The staff is helping
Specially the lady clens the rooms everyday
The towels are clean and the bedsheets are also clean
However the walls are very thin and you’ll hear all the guests in the rooms around you doing the deed and being very loud, the noise from other guests and the birds in the morning was a bit of an issue.
The bathroom is very small but the water pressure in the shower is amazing, the room is spacious with a closet, a fridge, and a hot water kettle.
However for the price and location it’s a great hotel, won’t visit it again but great for a short stay, I stayed for 2 nights and I’m not complaining that much.
Loads of restaurants around and places to get food, 5 minutes walk away from a main road full of shops for shopping.
Would like to add one last thing, the bedding and the towels didn’t feel that clean.
So for the noise and cleanliness it gets 2 stars deducted.
You have to leave your key every time you exit the hotel (really?!)
Blanket was in the closet and it smelled and was ancient. Paint was peeling off the walls around the AC unit and the chandelier was broken in 2 places.
This is a motel not a hotel in my opinion. I wouldn't pay more then 70 or 80 a night for this and even then only if all the other hotels are booked.
Location is decent and it has a mini fridge with working AC but that is about it. I don't have high standards but this was pretty bad.
