very pleasant surprise – beautiful hotel and location
Our stay at Minareto was a very pleasant surprise.
The hotel is beautifully designed and perfectly maintained, with great attention to detail in both architecture and landscape design. The gardens and vegetation are arranged with real taste, creating a peaceful and elegant atmosphere.
The private beach is truly special — set in a quiet, protected bay with crystal-clear water and a relaxing vibe.
The terrace area for sunset is also wonderful, with one of the best views in the area.
Service throughout the hotel was friendly, professional, and discreet, and the possibility to order directly via WhatsApp made everything easy and comfortable.
We didn’t take the boat trip to Ortigia this time — the sunset was too early in the season — but we’ll definitely try it next time.
Overall, a beautiful and well-run property, and definitely among our top 3 favorite hotels.

Overall service was good overall, however, there is also a few downside:
It's about 15 mins from town, and there is nothing around the resort. You will be looking at 40 euro one way to go to town.
If you decided to have meals at the hotel, they are charging about 30% higher than local restaurants, and their food standard is not that great (for both room service and dinner, i would say they overcharge). I would say breakfast is good standard.
Some small things also bugs me: they provide food delivery service all round their site, so you can order food anywhere from What's App and have it deliver to you, but they charge extra 2 Euro per head for delivery. And you only get 2 bottles of water on the first night of your stay, the remaining time there, you will have to pay 5 euro per bottle of water. Shocking! and there are quite a lot of mosquitoes around, especially in the evening time.

Fell in love with the pictures of the sandy beach, which indeed is lovely. The hotel however has two types of rooms - the smaller in 80s styles, while some suites and family rooms are beautifully renovated. We had book a standard double room, and did not feel it was at 5 star level because of size and quality of bathroom. We complained and were upgraded for the last night.
Otherwise not consistently at 5 star level. Room service with odd menu and hour limitations. Very few common “lounging areas” as you would expect from a hotel at that level (in particular during rainy days). And breakfast buffet was correct, but also closer to 4 stars. Overall, more a 4 star hotel experience. Would recommend to stay only if you are ready to pay the price for the upgraded rooms.

The location and facilities are excellent, but the service lacks any added value. There were no complimentary extras—not even a bottle of water per day. Prepare to buy everything! The boat ride costs €25 per person, including children, which feels excessive. Unlike other luxury hotels, there are no free on-site activities such as yoga sessions, water sports, or a kids club. Additionally, the area around our accommodation was quite dirty and wasn't cleaned until we had requested it four times, which was disappointing. Very small gym with no air conditioning.
The breakfast was excellent, but lunch and dinner were very poor in quality, small portions (most dishes not even Italian) and extremely overpriced. A few disappointments we went out and had our tasty Italian food elsewhere, with taxi (20-30 euro for whole family, depending on time of the day) instead of boat (25 euro per person).

I had an amazing stay at Minareto in Sicily, and the service was absolutely excellent. The atmosphere here is fantastic—relaxed yet luxurious, with stunning views of Ortigia, gorgeous pools, and a jacuzzi that’s perfect for unwinding. What really stood out was their WhatsApp service for requests—it’s so convenient and incredibly responsive. The staff went above and beyond to make everything special. I asked for an iron and ironing board, and it was delivered to my room in no time. For my friend’s birthday, I requested a cake, and not only did they bring a delicious one, but they surprised us with a bottle of champagne, which was such a thoughtful touch. They even stored the leftover cake for us since we were heading out for dinner. Ordering drinks at the jacuzzi or the Ortigia Terrace was a breeze, and everything arrived quickly. The staff’s friendliness and willingness to grant every request made our stay unforgettable.
Huge thanks to the team at Minareto for making it such a special experience—I can’t recommend this place enough.

The presence of such a structure in Sicily is a merit and a great honor. We have been coming back every year since it opened and every year we are more and more happy to be back again, there is always something new. We stayed in the villas this year, what a treat. Everything with attention to detail, chic furniture... Congratulations to all the staff from the beach, also very beautiful with blue eyes, in the pool restaurant and at the reception... The director Kampaila is also very nice

Amazing location with beautiful private beaches, one of sand, the other one of rocks overseeing the old city of Syracuse. Very smart WhatsApp communication with the hotel which enables you basically to get any food or beverage delivered anywhere you are in the complex

To be honest, the hotel was a HUGE disappointment. Considering the big price, it was a major letdown. The staff was totally untrained and incapable to do the simplest things. Ordering a coffee and pancakes in the morning was already too much for them. Most of the employees spoke little to no english. They didn't even know their own hotel area and couldn't tell us stuff like where we could find the gym, pointing us in the opposite direction. The food was overpriced and bad. Really... The salad and club sandwich we had was a total joke. The hotel wasn't clean either. A lot of stuff was broken, destroying the feeling of a luxury resort. You have to pay additional fees to use the spa, which is one small room. In there the hot tub was partially broken... On our last night they blasted music till 2 am in the morning super loud...
All in all me and my girlfriend were just laughing at the end.
We stayed in other 5 star hotels much cheaper, that had a much higher quality.
The worst part about the Minareto really was the staff. So unfriendly, did not say hello, looked uninspired... We felt really unwelcome. I payed 1000 euros for 2 nights.
