Hotel Great Polonia Conrad Krakow

This hotel is not four star. A 3, at best. You have to ask for any toiletry bits that you need /would expect at a 4*. Breakfast is average. Water in the room is not replaced each day. The shower hose has plastic around it that makes it so rigid, you can't direct it to where you need it so you end up holding the shower head in order to shower. My room door was also left open (not wide open, but not locked) and when I came back for the day just had to push on the door and it swung open. I had nothing of great value in there, and nothing was taken, but it simply shouldn't happen.
There is a massive building site next door, so we had wake up banging every morning at 7am, sometimes earlier - yes, not their fault, but would like to have been warned. Looks like this building work will be going on for quite some time.. Looks like they're building a new hotel.
While it's out of town, it's easy and quick to get an uber from here. There's not much else around the hotel.

The hotel is marked as 4 stars, but inside the info says 3. Booking also has it as 4 stars. But definitely the service doesn’t match… Breakfasts are good, the choice is big and the food is rather tasty. Location is good if you are ok staying far from the city center. You will have a large mall and ikea nearby, so it will be possible to shop or eat there (the hotel restaurant works for breakfasts if I understood correctly).
The rooms are ok. The service is questionable. The hairdryer was broken, so I had to phone couple of times to get it and I was asked to go downstairs to pick it up (with my hair wet). I don’t mind it as I thought that the receptionist didn’t want to leave the reception desk unattended, but when I came downstairs there were 2 people there… so it was just a choice not to take it to my room. If you are staying for more than one night, you’ll probably have to remind the staff to get more coffee/tea bags or fresh towels.
By the way, the tea/coffee with an elect kettle in the room is very handy!
It’s also good that there is a shower cabin. What is not so good is that there are no individual toiletries only large containers of soap and gel on the wall, but of course, for some people it will be a better choice, it’s a matter of taste, I guess.
The parking is 40 zloty. It’s underground, for some reason we were told the parking spots outside were taken, though they stayed empty.
