Brighton Hotel

We have done several hotels in Bangkok throughout our journey there, and this was by far the worst.
Let’s start with check-in where the staff barely understood some of our questions that we had concerning all day, the shuttle that is supposedly available for guests, concerning the services that the hotel is supposed to provide.
The room in itself is spacious, but there are no safeguards at the windows, which could lead to someone falling to their death quite easily. The bathroom has no curtains or door for the shower, which means that every time that someone takes a shower water is everywhere. And let’s not even talk about the shower-head that was broken and never fixed. There is a small space for a kitchenette, that is render completely useless by the lack of microwave or small stove, thankfully there is a fridge. The lighting in the middle of the room is mid at best, So, if you are planning to pack your bag in the middle of the night just before leaving in the morning, you have to do it on the desk.
The room service is in existent after 8 pm, and if you have anything delivered to you, don’t expect them to bring it to your room or even ring you to let you know that it has arrived.
The food for breakfast is there but nothing tasty or out of the ordinary & the options for vegetarian/vegans are very limited.
The air conditioning is terrible in the room as well. All the wind goes to one person in the bed because of how it is situated on the wall.
And the pool was freezing cold, not to mention that the windows are not soundproof and you can hear all the trafic outside!!!

Room type: Double-suite, 6th floor

Although the location is just perfect for BITEC, we were not satisfied at all.

Reasons:
1. Bathroom exhaust vent not working for both rooms
2. Hair dryer also not working
3. Amenity in the bathroom not sufficient
4. TV only shows one channel
5. DTV adapter has a bright blue colour just right in front of our bed, which is so much disturbing
6. WiFi was not working properly in my room
7. Not so many food options at the restaurant downstair
8. And more…

Improvements really are needed so that this hotel’s 4-star name is worthy.

Hotel rooms are dated and not as advertised on booking platforms. The bathroom was filthy and the television looked like it was about to fall off the wall. Tv channels very limited for English speakers and signal is terrible. Internet is not good either. Location is very poor for visiting centre Bangkok.

The service provided was poor. We checked in on a wednesday and were due to stay until the monday. At check in we paid the full amount. However, once we scoped out the location etc we decided to give notice a few hours after checking in on the wednesday that we would like to check out on the Friday instead. We feel we gave ample notice to receive a refund for at least the Saturday and Sunday nights to which they just said ‘no we can’t’. We also checked out prior to normal check out time on Friday giving them a chance to turn the room around and sell it for the Friday.

I followed up after checking out and wanted a break down for the reasons why a refund could not be processed but the hotel has avoided providing any update and is ignoring my messages. AVOID this hotel!
