So good Hotel in Bangkok

DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL. THEIR CANCELLATION AND TEFUND POLICY IS CROOKED. YOU WILL LOSE MONEY. Booked with a cancelation function in place through Agoda. Hotel grabbed the money as soon as I booked and Agoda just shrugged and said talk to hotel. I have spoken to them and emailed them 3 times each. CRICKETS!
LOTS of other great reliable hotels nearby. This hotel is NOT TO BE TRUSTED.

I stayed at Gold Orchid Bangkok Hotel for just 12 - 15 hours, and it was a very disappointing experience. Although the hotel claims to be newly renovated, it is very poorly maintained.

The biggest issue was hygiene. My first room had cockroaches in the bathroom, cockroach larvae in the sink, and other insect larvae hanging from the ceiling and walls. When I reported this to the front desk, they sent someone with mosquito repellent spray, which doesn’t solve the problem. They didn’t respond clearly when I asked about proper pest control.

They moved me to another room, but even there, I found egg larvae hanging from the ceiling and near the bathroom door. This clearly shows that the pest issue exists throughout the hotel.

Other issues I noticed:

Dusty AC filters – could trigger allergies

Old thermostats

Light switches barely work – need to be pressed hard to function

General feeling of neglect despite "renovation"

Please think twice or thrice before booking here. This hotel doesn't need another renovation — it needs better maintenance and hygiene control. I would not recommend staying here.

Did not give me refund for 5 days I was not there, food is cold, not allowed to use balcony. Staff seem decent.

Here for quarantine and not satisfied at all. Terrible stay. Awful food. Old room. No service mind staff. As if I ask to stay for free when you actually charged some amount of the money from what my insurance paid.

Ask to leave my iced coffee in the fridge bc they can send up again at 17.00 or else they’ll charge me 100thb for sending up now and your staff refused immediately, I wouldn’t do so if I was a staff though.

I had a very bad experience at this hotel. I was in Bangkok from May 23 to 26 to attend a seminar. My host had booked Gold Orchid Hotel for the event. One day the receptionist notified me that I will have to pay for soiling the room towels and I saw that some towels had stains of makeups which must have been used by my wife. I told them that those stains are harmless and will go away when washed. They were quite adamant and insisted on my paying so I told them to send it to the room and to make a point washed it and showed them the clean towels. I believe no where in the world will you experience such ill treatment of guests. I was compelled to bear this humility since I did not want to embarrass my hosts. However, I would never advise any body to choose this hotel and take the risk of being humiliated. This hotel has its own rules and you never know for what reasons you may be accused.
