Marmara Guesthouse

Fantastic team. Great service. Friendly, welcoming, informative and helpful. The breakfasts are so nice with plenty to choose from. The views from the roof terrace are great. It’s on a small little side road but so close to all attractions as well as local bars and restaurants. Rooms are nice and cleaned every day to a high standard. Would 100% go back and would recommend to anyone. The view from the dining area overlooks the Bosphorus and you can regularly see Dolphins!

Highly recommend this guesthouse. The covered rooftop terrace where breakfast is served has an amazing view of the sea and the Asian side. Their breakfast is an excellent Turkish breakfast. Their coffee machine makes delicious cappuccinos, lattes, etc. I was skeptical about the machine but they use excellent coffee and it was a highlight. All staff are kind and helpful. Location - 5-7 min walk to Topkapi and Hagia Sofya. Spent 4 nights there and would return if I have the chance!

My wife and I stayed here for 10 days at the end of June, beginning of July 2025.
It is a lovely hotel. The rooms are comfortable and cosy. The staff are so very friendly, helpful and charming. The location close to the beautiful Hagia Sofia, Blue Mosque, and Topkapi Palace is superb. It is also close to the Metro system and tram station, making the rest of the beautiful city of Istanbul very accessible. The breakfasts are delicious and plentiful. Overall, it is one of the best places I've ever stayed. It's not flashy or pretentious, but lovely and welcoming. I recommend it and hope to go there again.

Marmara Guesthouse was a great place to stay for our three nights in Istanbul. It was clean and comfortable and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious and filling. The location is very convenient to all of the main city highlights and lots of restaurants. We had a sea view room. The view was lovely but the street was pretty loud into the night (it was warm so we had our windows open).

I recommend this hotel for a stay in Istanbul.

Breakfast is good, but I would have preferred more bread choices.

No elevator, lots of steps to climb to the breakfast room, so only for the able bodied.
Good quality bed linens, hairdryer in bathroom, towels and toiletries provided as well as slippers.
It can get a bit noisy. the walls are thin.

Awesome staff. Very clean rooms. 5minutes to hagia sophia and blue Mosque. Stunning breakfast and view. No elevator, so not recommendable for people with disabilities.

We spent the New Year holidays at this place. The staff is very friendly, and the rooms are nice and clean. I recommend choosing the option with breakfast and enjoying the view of the Bosphorus from the beautiful terrace

Loved our stay here for 4 nights in Istanbul. Conveniently located in walking distance to Blue Mosque, Sultanahmet Square, the tram line and many other options. Bit of a touristy area, but on a dead end street so very quiet. Rooftop terrace was great to have some late night drinks with a view of the river.
The breakfast buffet was top notch, with free tea and coffee around the clock.
They also did laundry for €3 per kilo in June 2024, and could book various activities for you. Rooms are a bit simple but very good value for money.

This guesthouse is a little gem: Only a 5 minutes walk away from Hagia Sophia and the Topkapi palace, it offers a cozy place to stay in the old town. The rooms are small yet convenient and totally clean as is the included bathroom.

The special thing though is the rooftop terrace on the 4th floor from where you have an amazing view over the Bosporus. The Mediterranean breakfast that is served there every morning is FANTASTIC! This alone is a reason to stay there again 😉.

My family has made lovely memories at Marmara Guesthouse: The friendly staff was always there to help us with any question and gave us great tips of how to explore Istanbul off the beaten path. All in all: Very much recommended! We'll be back one day, for sure 😊.
