We chose this hotel after reading several online reviews, and it really didn’t disappoint. It’s tucked away on quiet street but is also just a few strides from a host of bars and restaurants. It’s only five minutes walk from Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque and Topkapi Palace. The staff were really helpful and friendly. Our room was modern, clean and spacious, with an outdoor patio area. Oh, and the breakfasts are tremendous. Highly recommended.

A charming hotel with a wonderful atmosphere in a beautiful area
The breakfasts here are absolutely delightful!
The staff is incredibly attentive and kind—special thanks to Eren, the administrator, for his hospitality.
How could this hotel be anything but amazing when you’re greeted by an administrator hand-feeding kittens? 🐱❤️

Located in the old town of Istanbul in a quiet street this boutique hotel really delivers. The rooms are not big, but quite adequate and include a luggage rack, small fridge and coffee machine. The location is great - quiet at night and close to them BlueMosque, Hagia Sofia and Topkapi Palace in particular. We also walked to the Grand Bazaar, Spice Bazaar and ferry terminal - but there are trams nearby if you want to save some energy. Eren, on the front desk , gave us a warm welcome and a lot of useful information for our stay. The breakfast is great and help with airport transfers gave us peace of mind and is well worth the cost.

I would recommend staying at Hotel Poem. Staff is 10/10 friendly and attentive. Location is quite walkable and convenient to the Old Town tourist attractions - Blue Mosque, Basilica Cistern, etc. They uniquely name their rooms by famous people and not numbers. Our “Aubrey Hepburn” room was small but clean and practical. BUT the best part was the breakfast spread! I would come back just for that reason alone.

The service was 10/10. Everyone was helpful and accommodating. They were happy to answer questions and provide guidance
The breakfast is really delicious, it was nice that it’s included. We also used the transport from the airport that they organized.
The location is convenient and it’s quite cute with the cobblestone streets.

*good breakfast
Cons:
*it was impossible to sleep at night: the cries of seagulls and cats did not let us sleep
*the room is stuffy, it is impossible to sleep without an open window, and with an open window you can hear the cries of seagulls, cats and ship signals
*the location is among hostels, crowds of schoolchildren and students nearby
*there is a street with street cafes nearby, which you cannot walk past calmly (insistent cafe employees pester)
*it is impossible to drive up to the hotel: a dead-end street, clogged with parking cars, as a result, you need to be prepared for the fact that you will have to drag your suitcases along the cobblestones yourself (this is not indicated when booking)

It is in a great location for visiting Istanbul's key sites, including Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque. The staff are all very friendly. I arrived early in the morning, and I was really grateful that they prepared it in advance so that I could check in. And most of all, the breakfast was really, really great. I thought it would be good after reading other people's reviews, but it exceeded my expectations. I tried to try everything, but I had a hard time eating too much, and the food types changed every day, so I got another fun experience.

Overall, the hotel is not bad. Well located and the breakfasts are tasty, although a bit monotonous. The staff is hospitable and helpful.
Now about the downsides: a noisy room next to the entrance - a conversation with the administrator can be heard as if he is 2 meters away from you. I asked for a double, they promised to satisfy the request, but in fact there were two pushed together beds. Every midnight the Internet was disconnected, which in itself is inconvenient (after all, it took 3-4 minutes to turn it on), but on the last night, that is, 12 hours before check-out, the password (my passport) stopped working. I am sure you can overcome the last problem quite quickly if you want.
