Samir Deluxe Hotel

The room was not clean when we arrived and is was so small! We left a note that we were going for a honeymoon and the receptionist told us “ special room” and it was a normal room and less than normal! The staff at the check in was friendly but the night shift wasn’t! The food was not good at all and everything was old and dirty!

I really do not recommend this establishment. The food it served was the same every day, putting no effort to it (we found disgusting stuff in our plates), breakfast was just awful.

The rooms are dry as a desert, and we had no view on anything. The employees only spoke Turkish (so we were basically lost without a guide), and they were also really mean with us, and not helpful.

The location is near th metro station, but it's the only good point about this hotel.

tl;dr : do not come for long durations, or if you're not turkish.

Terrible. DO NOT COME IF YOU'RE A TOURIST! This hotel is absolutely not worth the hassle. The chambers are extremely overheated, we have no control over the temperature, the owner was a total impolite jerk. The breakfast was rotten, the interactions were overall really bad, and the staff are impolite. We left angrily, really decieved, having a really negative experience.

When we arrived, we were stunned about how this hotel really didn't stand up to its 4 star rating. The rooms have zero privacy (no sound isolation, only curtains to close the window), and the day before our departure, we found our luggage and affairs PUBLICLY DISPOSED and THROWN AWAY in the hotel's hall. The owner insulted us when we asked about it. We didn't speak Turkish and the owner had bad english, so talking with him without our guidr was nearly impossible.

The location is really risky, we saw a guy getting stolen yesterday, and we are always around a shady neighborhood. The hotel is small, and the bed sheets were not clean. The room's air was really dry, as the air conditioning was automatic, without our control.

This hotel is not accomodated to tourists nor families who are not Turkish speaking. There are other hotels around İstanbul, please do not choose this one.

Our experience was just awful. We were misleaded by the tourist sites thinking this would be a suitable hotel for a 1-week stay, but this hotel is simply a big fat scam. It does not deserve the money we paid. The rooms are not soundproof at all! Every single noise can be heard : we were at the 2nd floor and heard sounds from the second floor thinking our rooms would be isolated. No decoration was there, the whole "glorious 4 star hotel" dream was shattered by narrow corridors and dirty rooms, inside of a shady street (many thieves in there!). The staff were disastrous and didn't speak English, we had many electricity cuts which scared people off the elevators, the bedsheets were dirty and there was fungus on the walls! The rooms are dry and tend to be extremely hot given that we have no control over the temperature. The breakfast served is always the same and it is disgusting. Their juice making machines did not work and were blurting out filthy stuff. The bar is not open and the "view on the city" that was promised to us in the rooms was all lies, we just had a blank wall. The view was overall miserable. The bed sheets are broken and the room is not cleaned. The staff is extremely rude and impolite : they do not help and they are unwelcoming. The owner even insulted us once! They are always frowned. They only speak Turkish (not what they promised on the site) and they are really unhelpful. Overall a terrible experience. Really expensive and does not deserve 4 stars. We switched hotels mid-trip because they kicked us out for a misunderstanding, LEAVING OUR LUGGAGE AND PERSONAL BELONGINGS IN A PUBLIC AREA! The owner had a terrible attitude and refused to help. I DO NOT RECOMMEND! DO NOT BOOK IF YOU ARE A TOURIST.
