Gateway Hotel in Dubai

I loved the room, it was spacious and clean and comfy. The tub looked a bit old but the bathroom was clean anyway and they kept cleaning our rooms whenever we needed to. The breakfast wasn't that global, most of it was Indian food, as well as the other guests. But the staff was really polite and kind and we didn't really dislike anything. The only thing that annoyed me a bit was the location, I didn't really feel comfortable walking in and out in that busy area, but at least it's close to the bus station and metro station.

We were pleasantly surprised by this little gem of a hotel. Other than a very slow check in process, the service was efficient and excellent. The hotel is great value with all the amenities you need, lovely clean rooms and friendly staff. The breakfast buffet was excellent, with extras like fresh orange juice and omelettes delivered to the table. The only downside was the location. Lots of traffic and limited parking made for difficult access.

Excellent stay – superb value and location

I recently stayed at the Gateway Hotel in Dubai and overall had a very positive experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff were friendly, attentive and efficient — they upgraded me with no hassle when the room type I booked was unavailable, which was much appreciated.

The room itself was modern, clean and comfortable. The bed was large and the linens were fresh. Having a flat-screen TV, minibar, tea/coffee station and a well-equipped bathroom made the stay feel very convenient. According to their listing, all rooms include free WiFi, a fridge, and the bathroom features a bathtub, hair-dryer and complimentary toiletries.

Location is definitely one of the strongest points: the hotel is positioned in Bur Dubai and is within walking distance to the metro (Green Line) and many local attractions such as the Dubai Museum and the Al Fahidi district. This made it easy to explore the city without relying solely on taxis.

Some highlights that stood out:

The breakfast offered a wide variety of options including Indian cuisine, which was nice for my tastes.

Free parking (covered) for hotel guests – a big plus in Dubai.

A decent value for money given the location and amenities provided.

If I had to share a few tips / minor caveats:

The surrounding street area is quite busy, and in places can feel less polished or quiet than high-end resort districts. One review noted that: > “the general street area around the hotel isn’t great … it was safe, but honestly it’s a bit dilapidated and off-putting”

If you’re looking for complete peace and quiet, you may find the ambient noise from the city/lobby/streets a little higher than a secluded resort.

While breakfast was good, some guests felt the taste or variety could be improved.

Recommendation:
For travellers looking for a centrally-located hotel in Dubai that offers modern rooms, good service and easy access to metro and attractions — I would definitely recommend Gateway Hotel. I would stay here again on my next trip to Dubai.

This is budget friendly hotel value for money, just if you are OK with the BurDubai traffic inside the small lanes, service of the hotel is little bit delayed, you need to remind them 2-3 times for any requirement, breakfast was ok with lot of items ranging from Asian to Western. Just it's value for money if got in cheap.

This hotel is less than 5 years old and right in the heart of the computer markets. Great for business travellers. A good thing is the entire hotel is no smoking except for an outdoor smoking area on the 3rd floor after the restaurant. 10mins to metro and Abra. Clean hotel with friendly staff. Well maintained swimming pool too.

Amazing service overall. Hotel could do with a refit here and there. But service was beyond outstanding. Super affordable and if you don’t mind the rush of the area this place is perfect. Parking underground free. Lord of restaurants around if you want to try good food. Plenty of police patrolling so don’t worry about the rush of the area. It’s normal business practice in here. People can be big loud but thats it. Yours perfectly safe. We will comeback. Highly recommend this hotel.

Rooms are as shown in the photos, fairly well kept and comfortable. Mini fridge is a bit old looking inside and doesn’t work, however on mentioning to reception, they bought in a completely new unit. Super. WiFi is really bad. 60mbps wifi hub, giving overall performance of 10mbps down and 5 up, with constant disconnects, insufficient for video calls.

The first week I had the breakfast, but not a great selection of food, so after that I chose no breakfast since there are lots of options nearby. The hotel restaurant does great french fries though.

It is generally quiet, apart from a couple of nights when the neighbours were inconsiderate and spoke in the hall well past midnight.

Location wise it is super. Lots of places to eat, few good/clean veg restaurants, close to bus terminal, metro and the creek, so can have some nice strolls.

Cost wise it is quite good through booking.com.

Not bad at all. Affordable and service was exceptional. Stayed here with my mom for 2 nights and we really enjoyed it. Of course there’s the traffic but parking is free and service is outstanding. Plenty of eateries around. Will come back

The room was nice, great price value and the atmosphere welcoming.
Big thanks to the lady manager, dressed in grey — she was very kind and helpful . All the people working there are very friendly . I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely return.
