This hotel was picked by the tour guide company we booked with so can't comment on price. It definitely seems budget friendly. The front desk staff are helpful however the hotel could use a good clean. The hallways always seemed sticky and smelly. Both elevators did not work one day and we were on the highest floor. So that was inconvenient. Our heat also seemed to be turned off in the mornings around 6am, all 3 days we were there. Breakfast was decent, had good selection of foods. I wouldn't book here again if I had the option.

I recently stayed at Hotel City B Berlin for three nights, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. While the location offers easy access to public transportation, several significant issues detracted from my overall stay.

Elevator and Accessibility:
The most glaring problem was the broken elevator. With my room on the 5th floor, carrying my luggage up the stairs was an inconvenient and exhausting ordeal. What’s worse, the management didn’t seem concerned or in any hurry to fix it, which is unacceptable for a hotel of any standard.

Room Conditions:
The room itself had several issues. It was noisy if you opened the window, yet unbearably warm if you kept it closed, especially during the summer. Perhaps this wouldn’t be as problematic in cooler months, but during my summer stay, it made for very uncomfortable nights. Additionally, the room was poorly lit, with only two small bedside lamps that didn’t provide adequate lighting.

Housekeeping and Amenities:
Housekeeping services were another letdown. Our room wasn’t cleaned for two nights, and we didn’t receive new bottles of drinking water each day. This lack of basic service is disappointing and inconvenient, making the stay less pleasant.

Noise Levels:
While the hotel’s proximity to the U-Bahn station across the street is convenient for getting around, it also means that train noise is a constant issue. If you’re sensitive to noise, this could be a major drawback.

Breakfast:
The breakfast was mediocre at best, with the same uninspired menu every day. There was nothing special about it, and it didn’t meet the standards expected from a hotel breakfast.

Conclusion:
Despite its convenient location, Hotel City B Berlin failed to provide a comfortable and pleasant stay. The broken elevator, poor room conditions, inadequate housekeeping, and repetitive breakfast make it hard to recommend this hotel. If you're visiting Berlin, I would suggest looking for other accommodations that offer better service and amenities.

Hotel City B offers a practical and convenient stay in Berlin's Schöneberg district. Guests appreciate its central location near public transportation, making it easy to explore the city. Rooms are clean and functional, although some find them basic and dated. The hotel provides complimentary Wi-Fi and a 24-hour reception. While the breakfast is available at an additional cost, the surrounding area offers plenty of dining options. Overall, Hotel City B is a suitable choice for budget-minded travelers prioritizing location and functionality over luxury amenities.

Location was excellent, as this hotel is conveniently situated right next to the U-Bahn (Metro). The rooms and bathrooms were neat and clean, providing a comfortable stay. However, there were significant issues that detracted from the experience. The elevators were completely non-functional and appeared to have been out of service for weeks. Additionally, the hot water supply was inconsistent, disappearing after one person took a shower and only returning after half an hour. When we raised these concerns in the evening, the receptionist informed us that we would have to wait until the next morning for a technician to address the problems. Overall, I would rate this hotel 2.5 out of 5.

After a perfectly nice stay, we had a problem with the checkout. We weren’t sure about if we had booked or not the breakfast, so we asked the receptionist (20 of July, 8:00) to make sure. He told us that in fact it was included in our reservation so we had breakfast. When we did the checkout he told us that we gave him the wrong room number and that it wasn’t included. So after realizing it was his mistake, he didn’t say sorry and he charged us for everything.

No ac. But the room was clean and quiet despite the hotel being on the corner of a very busy street. The motel offers breakfast for 10 euros, and it was a beautiful spread of breads, meats, cheeses, veges, n hot drinks. The bus stop and the metro are very close which was handy. Just be aware that you are very close to the red-light district. Daytime felt safe.

Firstly, the state of the room is disgusting.

There is one chair that is covered in stains, no one should ever be willing to ever sit on it.

The stains on the chair are complimented by the stains all over the carpet. The carpet in the room is so bad I feel like if I don't wear shoes that I'll be infecting my feet with some fungal disease.

The room also has a bunch of random holes in the wall throughout it, some by the front door, some in the bathroom.

While I'm in the bathroom, I want to comment on all of the mould growing on the railings. It's covering the entire shower.

With all of these points, this is likely the most dirty hotel room I have ever stayed in.

Secondly, my experience last night was horrible.

I came back to the hotel after working for a long day. It was about 11:30pm and the elevator was not operating. After the tiring day I had already had, climbing 5 flights of stairs was the last thing I wanted to do. Begrudgingly I made the hike, only to disgusting room 514 and this time with the overhead lights not working. It seems like someone had started to do some electrical work and not finished. You can see one of the lights hanging from out of its socket. To make matters worse, the wifi was not working. It was not connecting and if I did connect, it was not finding an IP address, as per the screen shot this can happen when there are too many people connected to the wifi. I had some important work I needed to wrap up that I was unable to complete because I couldn't connect to the wifi.

I've spoken with the receptionist this morning about these issues. She offered me breakfast on my remaining days, which is utterly insufficient and useless to me as I have breakfast plans this morning and leave at 5am tomorrow.

Room 514 requires immediate attention from you, your cleaning crew and your maintenance crew. No one should be able to stay here until this room is clean and fixed.

I have emailed management about this and called a number of times. It's been 2 weeks now and I still have not heard anything back

A hotel with an excellent location and amazing service. We were served in English by all staff, and one in particular at the front desk named Sam went out of his way to help us out and accommodate us. He was very pleasant and provided helpful information about the local area as well. The rooms are very spacious and the bed comfortable. It's just a bit matter-of-fact, no luxuries. The breakfast was also excellent. Good value for the money paid in my opinion.

The hotel has improved a lot since last year. The rooms are cleaner, the staff kinder and they generally offer a better service. The English skills of the breakfast room staff has also improved and not only it's now possible to communicate, but generally they are kinder, more helpful and they try to be more elastic also offering allergy alternatives to dairy like oat milk. I was staying at a room at the 4th floor, with a lot of light during the daytime and quite comfortable. If anything I would suggest to the staff to put an extra light on the ceiling and some easier way to regulate the heating in the room during the winter as it can get excessively warm. Finally an extra compliment to the staff at the entrance: always kind, multilingual (a gentleman there can also speak Italian) and very very helpful. Keep it up! I will be back next year for sure.

We were really happy about our stay at this hotel.
The room was spacious with comfortable beds and nice service. The team was really friendly. We also recommend the breakfast, which was delicious and convenient.
Perfect location to discover the city and its surroundings.
Maybe the team could work on the elevator and the smell around the corridors. But we would definitely come back and are thankful for the great experience.
