Reviews
The check-in was smooth and quick and the staff was super kind and upgraded us to a bigger room upon request. The breakfast offered a great variety of food and was very complete and delicious. What I appreciated the most is that the staff was always kind and smiling, especially Marina who checked us in! The location was also great as it’s a minute away from the station and 3 stops away from the city centre.
One thing that should improve is the cleanliness: the smoke detector in our room was full of dust around and even if we told it two times to the reception, no one did anything.
There was a coffee corner for Marriott Bonvoy members where we could get anytime complimentary coffee, tea and juice - this was very cool as there’s no kettle/coffee machine in the room.
As a frequent Moxy traveler this one was one of the best I stayed at in terms of service and experience, will definitely stay again!
The room was nice and modern. The bathroom was really small with a specific smell, so we kept the door closed.
The hotel is situated just 3 stops from the center, which is about 5 minutes. The tram stop is about 3 minutes walk.
In the evening we were offered welcome drinks and they were really delicious!
There is also a private parking which is 12€/day and if you're traveling with a dog, you'll have to pay 15€/day.
All in all, we really enjoyed staying in this hotel and we'll choose this chain again and again!
Beds were the only perfectly clean places.
The reception and bar staff were very nice, helpful, and welcoming.
Breakfast was delicious with many cold and hot options.
Reservation of a parking place was not possible and when we arrived, the hotel parking was full. Thankfully, you can park on the street for 12 € per day, which I think is reasonable.
The reception staff was amazing - really welcoming and accommodated our request for a room on a higher floor. I really appreciated that.
There are just 2 elevators for the whole building with more than 100 rooms, and even the housekeepers are using them, so in peak times you can wait up to 10 minutes for an elevator (unfortunately we didn't find stairs).
The room itself was sort of a disappointment. It had a nice design, but there were no facilities. No minibar, no coffee, not even a shoehorn. Really surprising in a hotel of this standard in the Marriott chain, and for this price. If all you need in a room is a bed and a bathroom, you can go to Ibis for half the price. At least the cleanliness was perfect.
The bar in the lobby is very nice, they serve amazing cocktails and the beer on tap is just 6€. The bartenders are very friendly and they are doing a great job.
The breakfast offers a really big selection of delicious food. We liked the informal seating and there's even a possibility to play foosball. Unfortunately the cleanliness was not the best, there was even dry leftover food on some of the forks and knives.
The location of the hotel is perfect - right next to the Dresden Neustadt station, which is practical if you come by train. Neustadt is a nice cosy neighbourhood of Dresden, and at the same time it's just 15 minutes walk to the Altstadt.
Overall, I think the biggest asset of the hotel is the staff, which are really welcoming and try their best with the limited resources of the hotel.
Service was a mixed bag, check-in was not so nice, checkout was super nice. Service at the bar was very stressed and we waited about an hour to get our drinks.
Rooms are kind of clean, but only superficially as you can see in my pictures.
The rooms are very nice, AC works great and the curtains block the windows so it gets very dark. However there is this light under the bed that's connected to a motion sensor, so if you want to take a leak at night, you automatically wake them up by turning this light on. I could not find any way to disable it, but you can probably use something to block the sensor if you can find it. I deduct one star for this function.
Also I got a ground floor room - sometimes you hear the plumbing from upstairs, which isn't constant, but it is weird.
I've also been listening to a delivery guy clattering about outside my window for almost half an hour & is just leaving now. It's only just gone 7am, had hoped to sleep a bit longer today
One of the bar staff last night was very disinterested & telling their colleague how much they hate their job & doesn't want to be there
