Mercure Residenz Frankfurt Messe

1. Stinky smell from the old carpet, worst stay in a German 4 star hotel ever

2. Aweful air conditioning system, didn't really work and with smells from the ventilation

3. the room key didn't work most of the time, even kept it away from any mobile phone or magnetic items, at least 5 times during my stay to queue in a long line for replacing a new room key entering my room; terrible

4. the parking lot ticket also went invalid many times resulting in asking for a new one from the reception, again time wasting, and the staffs mentioned "it's not our operated parking lot", sorry, I'm staying in your hotel, who cares this excuse?!

5 can't be worse management, that my collegue left his passport wallet in the room save, after checking out and left few hunderd kilometers away, he called Mercure landline and the staff asked for the save code then confirmed it was found, and confirmed it can be picked up days later after our biz trip finished and returned to Frankfurt, guess what? on the pick-up day we waited at the hotel reception for more than 1 hour, just because there was no record made from Mercure staff about this passport wallet, this ruined our schedule and especially everyone's mood

Won't stay in this hotel ever and won't recommend anyone to suffer from all these above.

No hot water, blanket was dirty, only one room key worked, and fruit was old. Rest was good, European big hotel stuff, could have been great... Probably lowest bidder on the tour company.

The room had a very unusual smell, suggesting it might be in need of renovation. Unfortunately, the hotel employees weren't very helpful. The lady in the breakfast was shouting to me because I have given them a wrong room number, the hotel was at fault since they had it wrong, and they never apologised. It took them two hours to provide a pair of slippers, even though there were some available at the reception. Furthermore, our room, located on the ground floor, was quite noisy. Overall, it was a disappointing experience.

A real mixed bag, comfy rooms, good value but seriously let down by customer service would not return for this reason.

Front desk where very frosty to us from get go because of how this was booked?? No idea why, we tried to be super kind in the hope it might improve things.

+ Rooms are nice and comfortable and quiet.
+ Fantastic location for public transport.
+ Good breakfast buffet.

-Majorly rude for no apparent reason was told off for how British Airways booked the room (it was a holiday package) nothing we could control, after insistiing on it and having a huff was told then not to worry about it, was tired and it was late so could have done without it.
- Our keycard was de-activated every day and it was a fuss to get it reenabled
- On more than one ocasion house keeping came in while we where sleeping even though do not desturb sign was on.
- TV Broken reported this was never fixed.
