Moxy Frankfurt City Center in Frankfurt am Main

The moxy might work for a young solo traveler but was not a good fit for our family. The room is super tight, not sound proof, no hot water kettle, no water for guests, no safe or fridge. When i asked the front desk for water, they said to drink from the bathroom faucet, however, there were no cups in the room. The service was not kind and very non-chalant.

The area that this moxy is located in is particulary seedy. Many unhomed individuals at the door step, including ones high on opiods. We felt very uncomfortable walking to the grocery store for our water. I would not recommend.

The hotel’s location is excellent, and the lobby has a fun, modern atmosphere. However, the guest room itself was underwhelming. There was no phone or refrigerator, and the bathroom was extremely small. You could quite literally shower and brush your teeth at the sink simultaneously. The bed was also uncomfortably firm.

My greatest concern, and the reason I would strongly caution others before booking, is the housekeeping oversight. On our first night, a male housekeeper entered our room unannounced, while we were sleeping, simply to drop off two rolls of toilet paper. This was an unnecessary visit (we did not need toilet paper), highly inappropriate for the late hour, and a violation of privacy, personal space, and basic guest safety. I was deeply unsettled and grateful I was not traveling alone.

When we reported this to the front desk, the response was that housekeeping is contracted through another company, implying it was not the hotel’s responsibility. This is unacceptable. I later found a January review from another guest describing a similar incident in which someone entered her room while she was showering. That should have been a wake-up call for management to take corrective action, yet clearly no safeguards have been put in place.

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this property. For me, safety is non-negotiable, and I left feeling disappointed in both the Moxy brand and Marriott. If your security matters to you, I strongly suggest choosing another hotel.
