Hotel Senator

Lovely Hotel five minutes walk from Central Station. Staff are friendly and helpful. Our room was huge with beautiful European doona’s. Bathroom was clean and spacious

Very friendly service and slept well

Hotel is a 3-5 minute walk from the main train station, and very well located in an area with lots of restaurants. Only thing to note is that there’s a convenience store nearby that you have to walk past from the train station which attracts many homeless / drunk people, so you may feel a little unsafe walking back alone at night.

Overall hotel looks a little tired with the furnishings and the rooms. You can tell that there has been some effort towards renovation and refurbishment, but that it is still relatively tired looking. But honestly the price-value ratio is good and the rooms are very functional. There is an elevator, but it is old and takes forever even just to arrive at the floor.

Breakfast spread is quite limited and you’re likely to grow tired of it after 2-3 mornings. Hotel staff are lovely and welcoming, which makes up for things.

Absolutely loved this hotel! Friendly staff (especially the lady at breakfast), clean spacious and quiet rooms, a great breakfast buffet and we appreciated the welcome drink voucher. The decor may be a little dated but in a stylish retro way, the bar and dining areas are lovely and a great place to sit for an evening drink and chat. I’ll definitely stay here again on any future trips to Hamburg.
