Lovely hotel! we stayed in a very quiet and warm room, extremely clean and cozy. The breakfast was outstanding! Free parking and easy connections to the city with public transport and even by biking. We would definitely comeback another time! Also thank you for helping me with my warm bottle every night! Even when it was very late :)
Maybe next time we would like a proper queen bed instead of two double beds put together because they would always open apart during the night.

This was our final hotel this trip. I wanted something nice and boy did I find it!
The hotel is located in an old volks school building, with beautiful thick walls and high ceilings.
There is a well lit private parking space directly in front of the receiption desk.
The rooms are spacious and luxurious. Well cleaned and complete with minibar and big TV. The bathroom has a very nice shower, washable and toilet in one room.
There is no dinner available in the hotel but there are plenty of options in the same street. I'd recommend schweineke, it's burgers and schnitzel and about 400 meters walk.
They do have breakfast. And the breakfast was very good. Plenty of options and something for everyone.
Good coffee and plenty of beverages like juice and milk.
The average guests were well behaved slightly older people, I guess the average age at the breakfast was about 50. Which is, to me, a very nice thing and adds up to the luxurious experience.
I will definitely come back here if I'm ever going to need a hotel for a night or two.

Great hotel! We had a cheap room in the hotel below street level. However, it was quite bright and cozy. It was very clean, the service was excellent and the breakfast was second to none: plentiful and delicious. We will be back!

Lovely hotel with an interesting background. Room and bathroom very nice, modern and clean.
The breakfast was a buffet with a great selection. Unfortunately, there was inadequate ventilation, so our clothes smelled of food for the rest of the day. Something should be done about that!
Subway is 4 minutes from the hotel and will bring you to the city center in 7 minutes

A very nice hotel. We stayed there with some friends, when we visited the weinachts market in Hamborg. It is a little outside of downtown, but it is easy to go there by U-bahn. All staff were friendly. Definitely worth a visit, and a hotel I’d recommend.

I recently stayed at Hotel Volkschule in Hamburg and had an overall positive experience. The hotel is located in a great spot, well-connected to the U2 underground and the A24 Autobahn, making it easy to get around. There's also a giant parking lot with free parking, which was super convenient.
The room was surprisingly spacious for a city hotel, and it was very clean. The bathroom was modern and really top-notch. However, the view wasn’t much to speak of, since the windows were almost underground, looking up at the street. One downside was the noise—since the hotel is apparently in a flight path, you can definitely hear the aircraft engines at times. A bit more soundproofing would have made a big difference.
The staff were fantastic—super helpful and responsive, easily one of the highlights of the stay. Breakfast was mixed for me. The food quality was solid but nothing extraordinary. The experience was somewhat spoiled by a lot of loud guests, seemingly groups of business travelers making it feel more chaotic than cozy.
A couple of small things would have improved the experience, like a coffee maker or water boiler in the room. Still, with its good location, reasonable prices, and excellent service, I would recommend Hotel Volkschule, especially if you're looking for a well-connected, comfortable stay in Hamburg.

My wife and me are both teachers... so this was such an amazing place - hotel to stay 4 nights! We loved it. great breakfast, also glutenfree bread available. Fruit, yoghurt... Also the location is super, walk out the hotel and there is a metro to go town center... Free parking is a great PLUS.

The best hotel we've been in Hamburg so far. The place is a old school turned into an hotel. The decorations are based in the history of the building and you can see all around reminiscence of its previous function.
The rooms are spacious and nicely decorated. The hotel has a private parking where your car can be safely parked for the night without additional fees.
The breakfast was also delicious.
