Opera Hotel Köln

I’ll start off by saying the location is awesome. You need to walk for 2 minutes before you’re in the center. The rooms are okay. It’s noisy. You can hear the conversation people next door are having if your room is quiet. People start slamming doors to go to the breakfast around 7am so that was really annoying. Our room had blood on the curtains and on the wall. Not sure where that came from. There were a lot of cracks in the ceiling. The bathroom is fine but the showerhead only turns to face the glass so you won’t be able to shower properly except if you holding the shower head. The breakfast was limited. The bread was not good at all. One time there was mold in my bread!! The eggs run out really fast and i haven’t seen them refill it. And to realize you’re paying 16 euros per day for moldy bread and not even being able to eat an egg is crazy. The coffee is good though. Also for who it’s important the wifi doesn’t work most of the time. Would not visit again.

Just checked in for a 6-night stay, and immediately very disappointed. Not a traditional hotel with staff and communal spaces. There’s nowhere to be but my very small, claustrophobic room. On a tiny loud back street. No ambiance, no luxury… I massively overpaid. 😔

The hotel is very old, with Chinese and Japanese restaurants next to it. Room 102 is very small. In addition to a double bed, one end is against the wall, and the other three sides have only half a meter of remaining width. It is impossible to lay a 26-inch suitcase flat.
But the bathroom and shower room are big enough.
We arrived at the hotel at 10:30 in the morning, and there was no room to check in, so we stored our luggage first. This service is the only one that passed the test on this trip.
We checked in at around 3:40 in the afternoon, and they told us that everything was arranged. But when we got to the room, we found that the door was open, and there was no towel or toilet paper in the bathroom. There was garbage everywhere on the ground. I ran downstairs to complain, and it took 20 minutes to solve it.
There are few varieties of breakfast, but I don’t want to complain. It’s enough to eat.

Everything I saw was different. They were all average. The rooms were very small. If you want to stay there, compare more. Don't make mistakes. It's too bad. I won't stay there again. It's just an apartment hotel.
