Le Passage Cairo Hotel & Casino

Beautiful place, but whoever you are do not go for the deal that gives a complimentary stay at a hotel with Egypt Air. Rather pay more and get a different flight.

I came here in transit with my pregnant wife and 16 month old baby. The first time I got there, they kept us in the hotel lobby for 2 hours and the food they serve at the buffet seems like it is definitely not of 5 star standards, I am under the suspicion that separate cheaper meals are prepared and provided at a separate restaurant for all the customers who get these complimentary rooms.

On the second time back through the hotel again, we were promised a shuttle every half an hour by Egypt Air. After fighting off the taxi drivers trying to con us into going with them, we waited for about an hour until we started becoming concerned, all the while the taxi drivers continuously harassing us for business when a free shuttle should be awarded to us.

Another hour passed before I went inside to the Egypt Air office that a man at the window said he would call the hotel and ask them to send the shuttle. We waited more time and nothing further happened.

Eventually I found the hotels number on google and called them and asked them to send a shuttle, they said that it would arrive in 10 minutes, it unfortunately didn't. More time passed and I called back this time asking who I was speaking to, to which I was answered Abraham. This time the shuttle did come and we left the airport to go to the hotel.

On arriving at the hotel I asked for Abraham to find out that there was noone of that name working there.

It seems to me that because I had voiced my concerns on the previous time about why we were waiting in the hotel lobby for so long the hotel had now made an active decision to let all passengers who arrive with complimentary rooms wait at the airport.

This is further confirmed because were hastily serviced when we arrived this time unlike the previous time.

Due to the uncertainty and deception the majority of the wait was outside in the Egyptian heat, which potentially endangered my unborn child.

If you are considering flying Egypt Air because of the complimentary room, reconsider and go with another Airline.

While the outdoor area might be nice, it’s a hotel for people who lose their connection flights, don’t book here willingly, it’s barely a 2 stars hotel, old and with poor cleaning and bad service and there is no decent meal option.
No reason to stay here unless you lost your connection flight and you need just one night close to the hotel.
Also at checkout they try to charge use of minibar mistakenly (not only to me but to 2 other guests who were checking out, so it’s not random).

Mustafa at the reception is supposed to be training the other single reception staff but is THE RUDEST and impolite staff member I have ever seen in my life. He kept dismissing us with every question we had and we requested single bed and got twin beds let alone the fact you have to wait 30 minutes to be served. STAY AWAY!! TAXI’s dont know how to reach here either. THIS IS NOT A 5 STAR HOTEL!!! Maximum 3!!! And thats me being generous!!!!!
