Radisson Blu Hotel, Cairo Heliopolis

Based on the facilities of this hotel, For me I’d say this hotel is a 3 star at best. The hotel is quite dated and the room we were in needs a lot of attention and general maintenance. We had a complimentary upgrade to a junior
Suite and I can’t even imagine what the regular rooms look like. The bathroom was just awful (see the videos I uploaded) and even the curtains had stains on them. I’ve been to many 5 star hotels and unfortunately based on the amenities and condition of the rooms and facilities I’ll have to disagree with the rating. The breakfast options are just OK that we didn’t even bother getting up for
Breakfast after our first visit. The pool areas again is just old and dated and the seats are dirty
The service on the other hand is really good and everyone is helpful and even when we expressed our thoughts on the rooms upon check out they did their best to remedy the situation but as I said to them and I’ll say it again. The things that are within their gift to control (eg service) they did well. It’s a pity about the hotel. They even arranged a free shuttle to the hotel for us and even that was a reflection of the hotel. The bus is old, has no air conditioning and so many parts are hanging from the ceiling. Would I return ?- No! Would I recommend it? No! Was the service good?- Absolutely!

I recently booked two rooms at the Radisson Blu Hotel, and it was the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. Both rooms had numerous maintenance issues that severely impacted our stay.

In the first room, the wardrobe door fell off and hit one of us on the head, and the sink drain was blocked. The second room had a continuously running and overflowing toilet flush, and the bath drain was blocked, causing water to build up during showers. While the staff did offer a different room as a gesture of goodwill, this new room was very small and had a malfunctioning AC. Consequently, we returned to our initial rooms. Although a plumber was sent to fix the blocked drain, he stated that the flush issue would take a long time to repair, leaving us with a continuously overflowing toilet.

We spent the next three nights enduring the very loud sound of a continuously flushing toilet and a foul-smelling bathroom due to the previously blocked drain.

The manager’s response and attitude toward our complaints was particularly disappointing. He seemed unfazed by the issues, suggesting that these problems were regular occurrences, and offered no solutions beyond moving us to the smaller room, which was inadequate for our party of three.

Additionally, if you are considering this hotel for its proximity to the airport, be aware that the shuttle service is overpriced and charged in dollars.

Overall, I cannot recommend staying at this hotel. I expected much better from a Radisson Blu property.
