Castello City Hotel

The hotel has good rooms with a fantastic breakfast and decent location. We did have one major issue with a school group that ran up and down the halls all night, banging on the doors, screaming and slamming doors. We brought up this issue several times with the hotel staff and nothing was done about it. This ended up costing us a day of exploring the city because we needed to sleep when they finally stopped at 7am. There are other reviews with similar issues so I would be cautious about booking here if you don't want to have similar issues.

Room OK, service and breakfast good.

Nice hotel overall but not 4 stars. The parking issue is a bit cumbersome. We had to leave the car on the street to ask for a ticket at the reception and then enter the parking lot 200m away.

The room I was given and my subsequent replacement are stuck in the sixties. My first room gave me roach & bedbug vibes. It reminded me of the rooms you see streetwalkers use in very low budget B movies. There were cigarette burns on the furniture. Masking/duct tape holding up the corner bumpers, holes in the wall. One bedside table backslash was just dangling sideways in the corner. There was a rusty old conference room chair there, rust around the shower base and what looked like dirt in the shower. I found a blanket to put on the bed and it had several yellow stains on both sides. Kinda hard to miss but put back in the closet to be used anyway! Apparently the rooms were decorated with some type of raised bubble design. They were just painted over which is fine but other patrons picked at the paint leaving the walls a mess. My next room was slightly better, it had a balcony 🤦‍♀️. The young man at reception was very pleasant. He explained on the first night that there were large groups in the hotel and there weren't any more rooms but he would try to move me the next day. The staff are all very nice. I enjoyed breakfast. Different fare each day.
