Castello City Hotel

This hotel deserves a 2* instead of the 4* mentioned on booking.com. From the sewage smell in the bathroom to the tv that only has few channels, to the AC that wasn’t working at first and we had to tell them to fix it, moving to the size of the bed that barely fits two people and the tea that they placed in the room that only serves one person while we were two.
The good thing is that they have a free parking located 500 meters away.
Not recommended at all!!

The hotel cancelled the PAID reservation due to "overbooking" 3 hours before the check-in.
The reservation had been made in February, almost half a year in advance.
An awful situation that has almost left me in a desperate position, fortunately, the aggregator helped me to rebook the hotel, but I would not recommend risking it to anyone else.

where to begin? when we first arrive at hotel at 1am in the morning we are hit with a 50 euro resort charge. this was not explained to us prior to booking. we were 2 couples so we had 2 rooms. the next day we went to look around the city. both rooms left money at the bottom of our suitcases, not wishing to take it all with us. 20 euro was missing from my case and 50 euro from the other couples case. we did not inform the reception because we thought they would have accused us of counting our money wrong. with this happening we got a safe in room immediately . breakfast each day was the same . it was disgusting. mushrooms from tins. bacon more like uncooked ham. scrambled eggs were like rubber and cold. fried eggs were good and thats about it.
place was clean however a few night into our weeks holiday the smell of sewrage from toilet becomes overwhelming. the other couple we were with had to change their room due to the smell. plumbing definately needs updated. tv in room only had greek channels so pretty much useless.
the only saving grace is the upstairs bar. the young girl , who seemed to do most of the work, was pleasant . best advise to anyone looking to use costello hotel AVOID
