Nice staff. I stayed in the off season and got a room upgrade. The balcony of the superior room is huge and the sea is partly visible. The rooftop restaurant was closed because of the weather, it was extremely windy. It's located very close to the main attractions. The noise from the nearby airport isn't noticeable. My only complaint is that the shower is kind of open so water gets everywhere. A taxi from the airport costs about 18€. Breakfast has a huge selection.

Just checked out and I am happy to end my nightmare.
Made a reservation for Lato boutique and placed on the annex which is lower lever place, some highlights
- Lato parking is not in the hotel but 15 min walk far in neighborhood which is scary
- Staff I'd rude and misleading
- The hotel is directly on HER takeoff path and planes shake your room all day till 2am
- There is no way to turn off balcony lights which reflect into your room
To summarize if you like to suffer, mislead and get yelled by the hotel staff, have aquite and relaxed vacatin few yards from the air port runway this is the place to be.

Staff are so helpful. Rooms are immaculate. Nothing is too much trouble. Herbs Garden restaurant has the best staff and food is excellent. Portions are generous and the half board option has a good selection across the 3 courses offered.
Breakfast offers a great choice and is served from 7 till 10.30 which suits what you are doing.

I had a large sum of cash stolen out of my room. Cash was hidden deep in one of my suit cases in $100 bills. Perpatrator mush have seen the cash earlier in the day and later, at night was able to access my room again and replaced the stack of $100 bills with $1 bill. Hotel said they did not see anyone access my room via the door, however they did. At night, via balcony or any other means my room was accessed and the thief had the time to find the cash envelope again and replace the cash. Major breach in security as the rooms obviously are accessible to any one at any given time. Reconsider staying at this hotel for your safety.

Nice boutique hotel, well located within walking distance from all amusement spots. Excellent view from the roof garden on the port and old fortress. An asset to the hotel was the friendly personnel, especially Maria at the reception. She showed professionally friendly attitude, very good smile and was ready to help with all questions. Great location for exploring the City Center. Lato Boutique Hotel is a short 12 minute walk from the Port of Heraklion, and only a few minutes from the City Center. A convenient bus, only a five minute walk away, will take you all the way to Knossos Palace in about 30 minutes.
The hotel itself has nice views of the harbor depending on your room. The rooms are comfortable, but a bit older. There is noticeable airport noise from the planes taking off, and nearby clubs can be heard late into the night. In add, the bathroom is quite cramped, and the shower is hard to control. The entire space usually got wet due to errant spray.
In summary, this is a great place to stay if you care about exploring the City by foot.

Directly by the port, but not a great part of town. Not a lot of comfort in this hotel. Booked the hotel after good reviews and good photos but honestly it’s more of
2 star hotel, really rundown, tiny rooms, balconies are dirty. The corridors are ridiculously old and breakfast is really mediocre/not good. The bathrooms are tiny and old. There is a small rooftop restaurant, which is OK, server was suuuper friendly, but food is average. For one night ok if you have a cruise to catch and are on a budget. We would have preferred booking something more expensive but with a better experience.

Beach Club to escape which was amazing.

There is a small rooftop restaurant, which is OK, server was suuuper friendly, but food is average. For one night ok if you have a cruise to catch and are on a budget. We would have preferred booking something more expensive but with a better experience.

- easy walk to main attractions
- air conditioner worked well

- bed creaked when getting on/off, but didn't affect our sleep
- elevator is a bit old fashioned, where you open the door to enter.
Overall, benefits far outweighed the minor cons. Would stay there again without question and highly recommend.

This is a 2-star hotel with a below average breakfast buffet and a 3-star rooftop restaurant. It’s in a dirty, rundown part of the city. We witnessed hit and run driving and smashed cars twice just outside the main door. Mangy dogs, cats, and humans lying on the sidewalk a few steps from the entrance did not enhance the atmosphere. The ever-changing desk staff was surly and consistently unhelpful. The room was small and not as pictured on their website. The bathroom design was just weird, outdated, and had no ventilation. The cost is low, but not low enough for what you get. Better to spend a bit more and enjoy your stay somewhere else.

Our room (310) had a terrific balcony (that you could play football on) with an even greater view of the fishing harbor and ocean. However the heat pump/AC unit was on the blink and the room (especially bathroom) had a bit of a musty smell. It’s a bit strange that the doors of this hotel’s rooms do not have peepholes for security, as most hotels have today. Also, the shower did not have a bracket for the attaching the handheld shower to the wall. I’ve stayed here multiple times over the years and — for the first time — got the feeling that general maintenance has suffered a bit as of late. As always, parking is also bit dicey although there is a parking garage (Central Parking) closeby that gives a discount with a validated parking stub.
