Dimitra Hotel

We like the palce very much. It's clean, good breakfast even though it is the same every day. A little bit off the main road but very close too all you need (shops, buses, beaches- the beaches there are not great but you can find nice spots). And I'm very grateful to a Polish member of the staff who helped us immensly when we needed it (getting an important information for us we couldn't get ourselves)

This is a simple, low-cost hotel, but we loved it! It is cosy, friendly, clean. You have a nice, quite deep, swimming pool. A Polish, kind receptionist that is always willing to help. Dimitris - the owner - is friendly and open for a chat. Breakfasts are not varied (almoust every day the same), but one can choose from quite many sweet and salty options.
The only minuses are: water from the sink - salty too and Greek mosquitos (take repellent with you!).
Location is quite comfortable - a short walking distance from the buses, a beach a little bit further but reachable on foot (around 15 minutes). In this neighbourhood beaches are rather small, but still many to choose from when you walk further.

Where to even start! 100% get a holiday booked at this amazing hotel. It deserves to be more than a 2star hotel!
This is the only holiday (out of many) that I have genuinely felt cared for by staff. It had such an authentic feel, and everyone was so friendly and lovely. All the staff work extremely hard, and I cannot express how much appreciation I have for each of them. They really made my experience great, and I honestly have no negatives at all. I wish I could have stayed longer, and I definitely want to go back again in the future. I was on a solo holiday and honestly felt so safe.
The hotel itself is beautiful and clean and is in a great location, under 30mins from airport, 5-10min walk from the beach/shops etc, and close to bus routes also. The pool is lovely, and enough sunbeds around the pool, with some spare most days. No need for sunbed wars here, thank goodness! They are also very comfy sunbeds!
The food was great! I went half board, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was buffet style, with good variety and different each day. There was also fruit juice/tea/coffee/hot choc included at breakfast and water at dinner. Breakfast included pastries, bread, fruit, yoghurt, cereal, sausage bacon and fried egg. Dinner was different everyday but always had a lovely Greek salad available. Examples of dinner include gyros, pork, chicken wings, beef, rice, pasta, pizza, garlic bread and loads more. Plenty of seating inside and outside. A table full of board games and cabinet full of reading books available too. There are snack available at reasonable prices during the day, along with drinks and ice-creams from the bar – again reasonably priced.
The room was a decent size and bed was very comfy. Cleaned regularly and sheets changed regularly, which is great. Hair dryer in the room. Aircon (7.5 euro per day – I did not need this at the room stayed fairly cool) / Safe (17 euro per week) / Fridge (3 euro per day) / Dinner (if not included in your booking is available for 16 euro per person)
Theres a gym that looked well equipped (not that I used it).

All staff were very lovely, attentive and welcoming, and just honestly absolutely amazing people!

Special thankyou to Nikos, who would always chat to me, and check how my holiday was going. He helped me to know of good places to visit nearby and shared information about crete and Greek traditions with me. He is also great at making cocktails!!! He’s very hard working, if he’s not tidying up/cleaning tables, he’s serving drinks or checking in on guests.

Also, special thankyou to Maria, one of the owners of the hotel. She made me feel very at home and I had some lovely chats with her. She also was constantly working hard, serving breakfast, cooking dinner, working on reception and behind the bar.

Well done and thankyou so much to all of the staff. Im sorry I did not get all of their names, but I appreciate them all so much.

While you stay here, be sure to visit Lychnostatis open air museum (under 10min walk) – beautiful/incredible museum. Wednesdays is wine-feast day where you can tread on grapes, try local food and wine and see Greek dancing.

Truly nice place, absolutely friedly staff, clean rooms, not far for anything you need outside, but inside is enough for relaxing and pleasent stay! Maybe its 2 stars but you may find many of threes much worse than Dimitra. Thank you for perfect vacation.

good location, very nice staff, very clean hotel (including the swimming pool), delicious local food (family cooking and not industrial)

The place of the hotel is perfect,
Its a little of the big street, so nice and quit, but still verry close to all the bars & restaurants

First impression of the room was a little dissapointed ( old/small shower )
But its clean, and we were used to it pretty fast.

We asked for a fridge & airco, and that was arranged ( 3,- for the fridge per day & 6,- for the airco ) so that helped!

People are verry nice, and friendly,
They also have a verry nice, and deep pool 2.80 Meters .and theres always place.

We had a great time, and can recommend this hotel & people!

Thank you for everything. The hotel dimitra is very well located, removed from the city, family atmosphere, very friendly. Calm and rest are assured. The beach is 5 minutes away. Exceptional gourmet and traditional meals made by the small businesses of the hotel staff. Breakfasts very hearty. Special attention for each customer. Rooms very well arranged and located facing the sea. A swimming pool very well maintained. Nothing to say everything is perfect. We are delighted with our stay. Many thanks for everything. The only drawback is that promovacances does not integrate the price of air conditioning in its price ..
