Where to stay with pets in Kato Daratso

Our first disappointment was the receptionist who could not be bothered to give us 100% of his attention during check-in; he was on the phone for a third of it, spent another third asking people behind us in line why they were here to see if he could have some "quick win" fixes and ended the check-in by speed running all the instructions of our stay and the resort map

These rushed explanations led to the misunderstanding of where to eat and what was included in the half-baked where the serving staff was much more well-mannered and even offered the two wines we ordered without knowing we would be paying for it

The glass showers do not fully close or the stairs are to work to be efficient leading to spilling and wet floors; also the drain cover is loose and flow is slow resulting in a piece of plastic floating around

The buffet was well furnished with various options of meats, fish, salads, sides and desserts. Although there are vegetarian options, they are clearly less varied and refined

hile spacious and with a kitchenette, there are many shortcomings and defects that make it seem like a cheap hotel room as opposed to the luxury resort it is trying to be

So far, the experience is 50/50 but the reason I am making my review so early in my stay is due to something that won't change in our time here, the sub-par room

Fantastic Stay – Clean, Comfortable, and Relaxing I stayed at this hotel for 4 days and had a fantastic experience. The service was excellent—staff were friendly, helpful, and always attentive

My husband and I stayed at the Minoa Palace for a portion of our honeymoon with the half board package and we greatly enjoyed the experience. Their location was great and transportation to Chania was easily accessible

Was fresh every morning and had a very large variety of hot and cold dishes and sweets. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Overall a pleasant stay in a beautiful property

The half board includes breakfast and dinner in which the food was excellent. We choose this option so that we could venture out during the day and explore other places for lunch

The beachfront rooms were a little walk from the main hotel including a walkway over the main road so ask for a room in the main resort if you'd rather avoid, but wasn't an issue for us

We got the room at the lowest ground which was a bit dark but travelling with a toddler was very handy as we weren’t woken up at the sunrise 😅 and the bushes around the balcony (we complained about them at first) turned out to be very handy at evenings when we sat there during heavy wind

The main point - food was absolutely amazing! There was nothing we didn’t like and we are picky eaters. Loads of choices from meat, fish, veggie, and seasoned perfectly. The local corner was our favourite

We still could enjoy the quiet evening there without freezing. Rooms are fully equipped with toaster, coffee maker fridge freezer and table for 4 ppl. Room was cleaned every day with fresh towels

When the guy that was cutting the grass noticed that my child wasn’t comfortable with the noise stopped immediately and let us pass without stressing the child

Hummus, cheese thyme honey ♥️ Local sweets for dessert ♥️ if I only had two stomachs to fit it all in 😅 We’ve been there for 7nights and food never repeated

Starting from reception, everyone was very friendly and helpful. We were offered to leave baggage’s at the reception and stuff will take them to the room

The always cheerful, accommodating, and dedicated staff undoubtedly contributes to the overall high rating of this stay. Furthermore, we appreciate the overall cleanliness of the entire facility

The rooms were cleaned on a daily basis, including regular towel changes. Moreover, from the early hours, the pools and pathways were well-maintained

Intimate bungalows surrounded by a breathtaking olive grove and a beautiful, well-maintained garden, are extraordinary elements of this place

We had the pleasure of visiting this hotel in September this year, marking our first trip to the beautiful island of Crete

In Althea you can literally feel like in Greek village, relaxing in gardens in hammock, feeling the peace and harmony to the surroundings

Car rentals are available nearby, usually without the need for a credit card or deposit. There's also a bus stop close by, with regular routes to Chania, which is only 4 kilometers away

The owner is very kind and gave us a helpful advice regarding the area and places to see during our day. I would recommend this place to anyone, looking for peaceful vacation in Greece

We have been in Oscar Suites for a week. The location is super nice and the apartments are also very good. It's nice they have two pools and a fitness. The employees are very very nice and helpful

The hotel located in the very nice area, the beach is just across the street and there are a lot of great restaurants around

The rooms maybe a but outdated but that is in no way an issue when you consider free parking, free air conditioning, decent breakfast and a wonderful service. Definitely choose these folks

In 5 minutes bakery with ice cream and coffee, beach, shops, bars, bus station to Chania There is also amazing bar in the hotel and relax zone. Highly recommend to stay in this place

We stayed there for our honeymoon for 7 days, and it was INCREDIBLE! Beautiful resort with everything you need, friendly staff, delicious delicious food! We booked the Executive Suite, it is two stories with a hot tub and a big balcony overlooking the pool and sea

A solid 4 star hotel by virtue of their friendly and hardworking staff. I stayed in a suite at this resort hotel over 10 days. The hotel has most of the facilities you would expect from a 4 star hotel

The hotel exceeded our expectations. Very nice staff. A great pool area and bar, directly at the beach. Surrounded by nice Restaurants nearby, a little bit further up the hill.

The bed not too comfortable and the shower is quite weak and their old water tank still gives hot and cold water cycles. So your shower will constantly turn hot and cold which is pretty annoying

I also recommend taking a massage at the Spa to relax tensions, the masseuses are good. Towels are replaced regularly and generously. The staff work hard to keep everything clean

Regular cleaning and functioning AC. What makes me lower my rating was the bitter attitude from the staff and the route you had to take to get to the restaurant/beach

The hotel is well designed: two-storey, white, vaguely Arab-style buildings with lots of grassy areas, flowerbeds and trees. The rooms are functional and well-equipped with good beds and little balconies

It is worth buying family apartment typ de lux number 165 because it was worth the price. High standarts of ccleanliness,very goog food(regional green products👏)

Although it is close to the main coast road it doesn't seem too noisy and the beach zone (with a kids playground, fitness equipment and a volley ball pitch, etc

Hotel apt was clean and comfortable and staff is alwas nice and ready to help. Be aware the beach is not for children , it is really deep right after you step in the water

The beach is the gravel type!!! We had to travel 8 km towards Chania everyday where is sandy beach and calm water!!!

The rooms were spacious and clean, beds very comfortable. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Location brilliant, very central on the main road and on the bus route, and near the Platanias bus stop

The sea view with breakfast made it even more memorable. The Italian restaurant at the hotel is amazing too. I would recommend this hotel if you are looking for a good stay for a reasonable price

In summary, we had a taste of Greek hospitality where the communication is like talking to distant family members. The location is 10 mins away from Chania with a car, 15 with a bus and 35 by walking

Kyriaki hotel is a wonderful family establishment ran by very authentic, genuine and friendly hosts. The main host is a very charismatic and approachable guy who helped us with absolutely everything we asked for

Surrounded by olives, bougainvillea and other lovely Cretean trees and plants. Located just a 5 minutes walk to the sea and adjacent to the the best restaurant in Chania, the Sterna

5 minutes from the beach. 6 minute bus ride or a 40 minute Wallin along the beach to get to Chania Old Town - location was great for us.

We personally walked everytime because we enjoyed the waterfront path just make sure you either have a good phone battery for the flashlight or get yourself a headlamp. The bus stop is very close (5min walk)

The beaches nearby were probably the best we saw near Chania and there are several good taverns. The pool was big enough and there's plenty of sunbeds around. The garden is massive and very well maintained

Nice simple hotel, very well located.

Very fine little condo for a family of 4. There is a small balkony with dry hanger and good amount of electric sockets. There was room cleaning service eberyday with new bedsheets

Very sizeable poolarea with great pool and very friendly staff, that can suggest where to go, so dont be afraid to ask. AC and key to safety box in rooms can be bought as extra

The rooms were always clean, we could have free grapes,apples and tomatos,and they were sooo tasty)) The owner was very helpful and kind (to call a taxi or a bus-it was never a problem)

Btw,if you need to get to the center-bus station is near,taxies are cheap, and you can get there on foot-it will take you about 25 minutes

For the price we paid, it was generally good. On the downside, during our 9 night stay, they changed our bed linen and towels several times and never washed the floor. The kitchen is missing a frying pan

Just spent a week with wife in this hotel and everything which you need for vacation works. Hotel and rooms are clean and cleaned six times per week. Towels change every third day

Very nice accommodation, cleaned daily, very quiet. All the staff very friendly especially the cleaner Maria and the gardener. Ideally situated only 5 minutes to the beach and 5 minutes to the many bars and restaurants

Pool area is small like hotel itself but again clean and comfortable. Pool bar was not open at all during our stay. Aircondition was in both rooms; living and bed rooms, and worked well

The staff worked tirelessly to ensure the area was always topped up with food and clean. The staff also kindly arranged for my husband and I to have decaf coffee with breakfast as the machine didn't have this

Fairly large, clean pool, with deep and shallow end and a separate kids area. Pool towels are available for a refundable deposit. No shortage of sunbeds, plenty stacked up to the side

If something isn't right, all you have to do is ask and the staff will go out of their way to help. I've stayed in 4-star hotels and not had such excellent and attentive service

The beach is a 7-min walk away, past a couple of small shops. The staff are a credit to this hotel, they will go out of their way to help and were ever so friendly and chatty

What a wonderful hotel! We had a lovely welcome from the reception desk, Konstantina was there to answer any of our questions and she was most helpful and friendly

You can swim at your own risk after 8:00 (20:00), unlike the 5-stary hotel down the road (Porto Platanias). The pool is very nice, with water that's not too cold or warm, and actually larger than Porto Platanias

6 Two TVs -- one large TV with Netflix, YouTube, etc. The only con I list is that the parking is a small dirt road, which gets your car very dusty and dirty
